Bathurst limited edition

The Japan "Bathurst" RX7 was only naming recognition and nothing like the Australian RX7. The Australian RX7 cars that won all 3 Bathurst 12 hour races were Mazda Australia prepaired standard production RX7 FD's. Mazda Australia ran as a 2 car team for the 3 years and when Mazda Australia built the RX7-SP the race was run at Eastern Creek and not at Bathurst. So there should be no naming recognition for that. The SP did win at Eastern Creek. Since then there has been no 12 hour production races in Australia.
I know this as I did pit crew for Mazda Australia at Bathurst and I did work on the development of the RX7-SP (I still own all the moulds for the Carbon Fibre parts used to produce the SP) I worked as a data engineer for both cars and I was crew chief the second car (no 7) I was lucky at the last Bathurst race the number 1 car had lapped the field including no 7 car coming second and blew a turbo and went out and the car I was crew chief on number 7 won.
