I have tired and this brace at a drag strip very recently. it helps wheel tramp but not 100% Lets say the problem I had before was 100 now with the brace its like 70. I have the same vibrations at high rpms but this is no surprise as now the diff is almost mounted solid to the cars body. Im going to try add engine brace too to see if things get better.

Guys, this brace does not substitute for bushings nor the launch kit for the toe arms and the lower arms. Don't expect this problem to solve everything. Get the whole package and it will all come together

noone is saying this is a substitute for anything nor did I say i needed bushings. what i said was this thing causes vibration on my car.

I wasn't really referring to you per say, more at the other guys that were moving away from the topic and leading to the issue of this unit use for stopping wheel hop. I wasn't trying to change the topic of your thread. Sorry for the intrusion.

The stock fluid filled bushings are not nearly as bad as you think they are. Granted, they have more play than solid bushings, they do last quite a while (in my experience). Mine lasted over 110k miles and they were still fine. YMMV

When they blow though, it's painfully obvious, as they literally burst.

Check your motor mounts, specifically the driver's side. Look to see if it is separated from the aluminum mounting bracket. If you only have one mount holding your engine in then stiffening up the diff will cause vibration to transfer, especially under heavy load when the secondary turbo is on.

There are only four mounts holding the entire drive train in the car, two motor mounts and two diff bushings on one mount. The OEM parts are all oil filled and have a tendency to rupture. The driver's side mount shears off very easily, then the only thing holding 25% of your mounting locations together is a metal band around the mount.

The diff brace is not causing the vibration, something else is loose and the diff brace is trying to compensate for it.

I have the Mazdaspeed diff mounts (as well as upgraded toe links/trailing arms)...I was getting some movement in the shifter under hard acceleration previously, but not now...they seem to be a good compromise between the stockers and something like nylon, which will rattle your teeth out

No, the rotary engine is so smooth by nature, that most owners have no idea that are driving around on one broken motor mount. Nearly every engine we pull for rebuild has a broken motor mount both FD and FC

u think a car with 50k miles, never driven in anything but pristine weather, and always garaged would have these sort of issues?

Storage and weather have nothing do do with the bad design of the FD OEM driver's side mount, Mazda even decided to change it. The aluminum version is no longer available. I have seen them torn apart on very low mileage cars.

diff brace

got mine today, gonna paint it to match me rims band, But as Banzai says just fitting a diff brace does not solve problems it highlights worn or damaged components, you have to go the whole hog n uprate everything,my 1992 fd has very low km n the drivers side eng mount is u/ s,my diff bushes are split,n it does not take much to split them,oe diff bushes are pants.

I'll second that, from a guy I know who has worked on many FCs and FDs

stock = reliable is fantasy land when it comes to FDs...there are so many time bombs with the stock car it's amazing

One600: thanks. For what, I'm not exactly sure.
