I would highly recommend that you run a restrictor to the AST.

Why? I made my own AST w/o a restrictor and coolant temp shot up to 285 F degrees within 5 minutes of start up because the coolant flowed through the AST instead of the radiator. The AST was too hot to touch while the radiator end tanks were cool.

Luckily, I was running Evans NPG+ so no harm done. That was over 4 years ago and 25K on 13psi of boost 311 whp (265 ft-lbs torque tuned by Steve Kan June 2008).

for those who still prefer having the restrictor built-in the tank... i got you covered as well

I'm debating on keeping mine or not. It's already a pettit, but if i pull and sell it, it will be like a free 2-step box for me!

I made and inserted an aluminum 0.090" restrictor pill in the hose from my Pettit AST to the radiator - same effect...

I just bought one from him around Feb. of this year. Paid around $150. I just e-mailed him off this site and he sent me his Pay-Pal address. He will make it with or without the restrictor as discussed above. The workmanship and finish is very good.

7 months to answer but i just realized you may have asked how my epoxied restrictor is holding up. It is fine, the OEM restrictor is a brass machined part and epoxy withstands higher than boiling point of water.

The Fighter's Garage one has worked fine for us. Easy to install and looks good too.
