Question Anywhere other than rx7.com to order the datalogit?

I was just wondering because on there website it says that they have them in stock and when I went to order one from them they said that it could be 2 or more weeks before they even get it in. My laptop is getting here on Tuesday and I was hoping to get tuned a little later in the week and this is going to really push it back if I can't seem to find a datalogit. Any info you can give me would be great. Thanks!

They are the sole US distributor, so your only chance to get it sooner is if another place happens to have one in stock (like the rx7store.net). This probably isn't likely so I would just accept that you have to wait. It sounds like you haven't ordered too many rx7 parts before...

The other solution is to go through the classifieds, sometimes people sell their used ones.

Direct From the Source

I had no problems with a direct purchase:

Don't worry I have ordered my fair share of parts for my 7, as my signature shows, but when something such as a webpage says that they have it in stock then you take them at their word. I know that I have ordered things from Jason at the RX7Store and it is 9 times out of 10 up on his page as out of stock if it indeed is or just the opposite if it is in stock. That is the only beef that I had with the situation. I would have ordered it from Jason at the RX7Store had I known, but now it is too late to recieve it by my deadline so there is no use. Plus it is $25 cheaper from rx7.com and now that I am going to have to wait to get the work done anyway I might as well save the money.

One question for those who have it. It says on the site that to update the software you have to register the unit. At one place it says "Registering a new FC-Datalogit is free." and right underneath it, it says "To register you must pay the US $20.00 registration fee, just click the "BUY NOW" link below after you have read the conditions." Can someone explain this to me?

Registration

I purchased mine new and there was no additional charge for registration.

My understanding is that you can purchase a used one from someone else and then for $20 register it with the Datalogit folks and get all the benefits of the original owner i.e. software updates, manual updates, and access to the Datalogit Yahoo group.
