How much boost is the stock bov good to? Does anyone know???

Yea, I've alway heard the stock BOV was good.
I pulled the bov hose and capped the outlet at the Y pipe. Without the bov hooked up it definatly sounded different, the leaking sound seemed to be gone. The only prob was I wasnt getting on it very hard but i think it was hard enough that I would have got leaking had it been there. I was hesitant to really run the boost up with no BBOV installed. I'm going to borrow a HKS bov that I know is good from a friend and give in a good test with that bov.
Its so wierd, when i hit about 7psi you can just hear boost pouring out somewhere and it REALLY sound like the bov.
Maybe its just a freak thing.

The CRV is exactly the same as the BOV except it vents 2ndary boost below 4500 RPM. That is probably what you are hearing. The stock BOV vents when in vacuum so you might hearing that before you get on it. Either way, everything is probably working fine, you are just hearing it because the hose going to your airbox may be off or loose.

Yellow Dragon is no more
No offense Wade, but he is WAY beyond that in his troubleshooting and problems. Stephen, don't be afraid to get on it a couple of times. The BOV is one of those things that has two effects .... helps you keep your turbos spinning so you build boost faster after a shift and to keep your turbs from starting to surge (I believe this is the correct term) ... anyway that is merely something to say the life of the turbos. A couple of times shouldn't hurt ... just shift REAL fast and then easy of the gas.

Yes,
I saw one go bad on a friend's car, signs you'd expect, low, slow to build boost. Pull it off and see if can blow through it, if you can it's bad, it should be closed at >= ATM pressure (to the nipple). I suppose it could hold until 7 PSI but you'll have to get more creative to test at that pressure.

Yep they go bad
Yes,
I agree with Alan,

Pull it off and see if can blow through it, if you can it's bad, it should be closed at with no vac. on it.....atmospheric pressure. His was dropping about 2 pounds of boost he had an aftermarket one so he just eliminated it.
