I've raced a few cars on my bike. Mainly don't unless I know them cause most car racers are dumb and don't care about bikers lives.
Raced a BPU Supra on my 2000 zx-6r that has an exhaust, jet kit, and bigger back sprocket. We started from bout 50 up to an indicated 165 for me. I had him by at least 4 or 5 car lengths.
Then an FD with intake/exhaust mods, dunno how much boost he was running and I didn't start pulling away until maybe 115 or 120.
I dyno'd @ 97 hp, so I'd figure that the FD would need at least 350-375hp to have a chance against the R6 as far as power to weight ratio goes.

Ok.. coming from someone who rides bikes on a regular basis.... i will tell u what will most likley happen..... a Yamaha YZF-R6 runs LOW 11's, o quit into the 10's y, ut very close, i am talkin like 11.1's... the 0-60 on a R6 is a low to mid 3, and he 0-100 is a low to mid 7. a R6 is no joke... its a mean bike. I have a Kawa ZX6-R 636. and it run 10.6 at 131.... And a friend of mine got a wild idea to race my FD against my bik.. he drove my car, and i drove my bike... and i honeastly walked on him, andi love my RX7 to death, its teh greatest sports car ever created pound for pound, but, you just cant compare a 400 pound land missle and a RX7.... So, IMO...the R6 wins, unles they are some heavy mods...
And Toughguy, i must say, the Gixxer 1000 is king!
just an opinion!
BTW, my key boar is messing up, excuse all the mess ups!

When racing bikes I always pray for a tight corner on a wide bit of road.
Straight lines it's about isolating that common sense gland that stops the nonsense that is racing.
Scotland is a land full of roads with fun fast corners and men astride machines that can't go round them fast enough for me.
I always wanted a Vmax even though I know they also are alergic to corners I am stupid enough to make it up the straights. Bike racing depends on how good the rider is regardless of manufacturers specs.

I don't think you have much to worry about, b/c going 150 on a bike takes a lot of nuts. I don't know, I only went about a 100 on a 750 katana, and was scared shittless, can't imagine what 150 feels like. I know a lot of people that harass cars, but when they finally get someone who wants to go, then end up lossing. I say worry if this guy has a lot of experience, other than that you shouldn't have a problem.

I work beside a guy with a Kawa Zephyr and he wont do more than 80.
No fairing on damn thing. So he can't hold on above that.
Hehehehe !
Oh yeah !!
Race him from standing! You never know if he leaves the disk loc on (Like Dave) ah it is the funniest thing, it should only really hurt his pride.
Watched him fly past the office window head first cause he was in a hurry and forgot about it.

How long a race, from a dead stop or rolling, and what does the dude weigh in at. He will blow you off the line and depending on the length you will or will not catch him. Rolling at 55+ its a 50/50 - Start at 90 and the dude will bail - top end on the bikes unless modified can hard to manage for some riders

If the R6 rider is mouthing off about having the best bike ever, then his riding skills are probably comparable with his intelligence. Meaning there is a good chance you could beat him from a dig (depending on your mods, of course), or a roll. While the R6 is a great 600, it's not the quickest or fastest in a straight line. The R6 doesn't start really making good power until 8500 rpm, so he'll have to be skilled with the clutch from a dead stop-- and not many people are. It is possible to do 10.68 @ 124 on one, though, 'cuz I have. If the rider is skilled enough, neither you or the Viper will have a chance; a sportbike's power-to-weight ratio is unbeatable at anything other than a roll-on from 100 mph, at which point horsepower/aerodynamics takes over, so if the car is packing enough of it, then the car may inch away. It's like any motor vehicle-- "The quality of the crate matters little-- it's the person behind the controls that will make the difference"-- Baron Von Richtofen
The Isle of Man is in the middle of the Irish Sea between Ireland and the British mainland. Don't confuse the Scottish and the Irish; they get pretty upset over that.
As a matter of fact, the Isle of Man TT races are going on right now...
Thus endeth the sportbike essay for tonite....

Beat the R6
With my previous FD I raced an R6 on the freeway. I dropped him from 60 to about 110. The mods at the time were PFS bolt ons and computer running 13lbs boost.
More often than not you'll waste one of these guys from a light too since the bike has a very short wheel base, and they are difficult to launch without flipping backwards. Occasionally you'll come up on a decent rider, rare.....

Noe The English that is a different matter.
Yes The TT races are insane. But they get paid alot of money to be insane where as most bikers here are accountants or lawyers with more money than guts.

Especially since I was one of only a handful of Americans there on the whole island during that time...

Thereafter, be sure that the coolant is always topped off. When the rotor is on its induction cycle, it pulls in water from your cooling system. Voila poman water injection.

It really depends on the rider for sure. My friend has a 2002 CBR600F4i that is supposed to do 0-60 in 2.9, but enless you are REALLY good at riding you'll never achieve that. The best he's ever done is 0-60 in 5, a far cry from 2.9. That bike redlines at 14k though, and the powerband reflects that. If you "floor" it at 3000 it doesn't accelerate so well, but if you ride it to 10k (the torque peak) it'll try to rip you off . You'd have to launch at 10k, and avoiding a wheelie would be hard.
From a stop he'll probably take you, even if he's not that good, but if you go on the highway you'll pull away.

It is 100% dependent upon the skills of the bike rider. Whether you win or lose (from a standing start) will depend on how well he can launch his bike. And doing it properly on a short-wheelbase bike isn't easy.

I agree with Lost Time. When racing a bike its 80% rider and 20% bike. my friend pulled on a yamaha R6 off the line in his modded 300zx that dynoed at 390 hp to the wheels. I couldn't believe... but yet its almost all dependant on the rider not the bike... if he's had his bike for less than a few months I say you will STOMP him. He won't have the nuts to go ***** to the wall just yet.. but he will want revenge months down the road when he learns how to really ride it

i raced a r6 once and ended up with a big fat street racing ticket. he was one of the typical, eminem look alike punks who was revving at me for and doing the classic 10k rpm flybye's for about 2 miles. i have nothing against intelligent mature sport bike riders. finally he got my attention by telling me at a light "i've got your twin turbos right here"(pointing towards his crotch) i figured what the hell, i had a set of drag radials on and was running 14 psi. launched perfectly (for once) and put about 2 car lengths on him by the time i let off at 65ish(too much traffic) i couldn't believe it, but my happiness was short lived as we both got pulled over about half a mile later. i know 0-65 isn't a real race, and he probably was not a good rider, but he wasn't gaining any ground until i let off. on the bright side my ticket was dropped to a "failure to obey signal" after the officer failed to show at the court date!

Not sure about from a stop but my bike(a Hayabusa lol) is fast from a stop but no power till about 8,00rpm. AND it is turbocharged and has nitrous(lol), diffrent gears and ive seen 218 before and it is WAY faster than my friends fd.
