Anyone heard of Continental Warranty?

I talked to Continental Warranty last night and they said they would warranty my FD w/72,808 miles for 37 months or 37,000 miles (which ever comes first) for $1318. The warranty would cover the engine, turbos, transmisson, rearend, air con. and a lot of other stuff.

I want do know if anyone has ever had claim with them? How easy is it to get them to pay a claim.

I know it's just a matter of time until I have to blow my motor and/or turbos. $1318 plus $100 deducible for a rebuild and/or new motor and turbos, is not a bad price! I can pick my own mechanic to do the work. Parts and labor covered.

If anyone wants to check them here's their web address http://www.continentalwarranty.com

When i purchased my rx7 with a new motor and every thing was stock, and it came with a warrenty through continental. I had a $50 deductable and i had year left and in that year i had the warrenty invest 25,000 into my 7. this is some of what i had fixed
1 Oil leak rear seal $1000 somethin
2 another oil leak $1000 something
3 window washer pump was out
4 cigareete lighter fell out
5 window button came off
6 termosat
7 new engine after over heating from bad thermostat
8 new turbos cracked turbos
9 coolant leaks
10 new radiator
11 new tranny
12 new ac compressor
13 new ECU
14 Some seloinds
15 some suspension parts
there's other stuff ,but it was all covered and i had to pay 50 dollars deductable and some labor hours that the shop went over that the warrenty only covers so many hours. No problems only had a inspector come to the shop twice. Once for the turbos and once for the A C compressor. Other than that no problems.
I hope that i didn't ruin the rate for other rx7 owners,but
i'm sure they wont give you a problem with sh*t breaking all of the time, they are use to it from my car. I believe the owner before me got the warrenty with 56,000 miles on the car with 500 miles on a new motor came to $800.I believe your car has to be stock, for it to be covered.

Hey raceready
Did warranty cover you with all those mods done to your rx7. Imight have to give them a call,my warranty is gone, and i'm glad i had it,actually that's what sold me the rx7 knowing i had a warranty and i could drive it like hell, and I hope to rebuild it before the warranty was up,which i did. But now i don't stomp on it as much, i would never been able to afford it with out it.Serioulsy with parts and labor added done at a rx7 shop. i have reciepts easly 25,000 warrenty

I'd get more info on the coverage of your car with mods. I know my warranty company sent TWO inspectors and went top to bottom to check. I've heard of people getting their claims denied for really stupid things.

OEM

I asked a supervisor if my motored would be covered if I accidently lean out the fuel mix much with an aftermarket computer. He told me the motor was covered along as it was still OEM.
I also asked about repair time and if I had to wait for an inspector to look at the car. I was told no one from Continental will come out and check whats broke. My mechanic calls them with a price and they pay him with a credit card number, before he starts repairs. A friend of mine is a licensed mechanic, who willing to help me.
There is 1000 mile or 45 day waiting period, before I can start making claims.

Make sure they specify rings and gaskets, failure from overheating, and emission equipment. i.e air pump. because think about it, those are the main reasons our engines go. Mine didn't, they refused to fix my car. But i did get my damn turbos rebuilt which were $1500.00.
So i guess i got my 1,000 worth but not really. I had to rebuild out of my own pocket. Yes, those ******* are a pain in the *** to work with.

Hey raceready,
Just to let you know, since i like this warranty company i tried to get my girlfriend's acura covered and the denied it cause it had a intake and exhaust. They said the wouldn't cover the engine cause of those mods. And by the way,no continental doesn't come and inspect your car,but they hire a adjuster near you and they fax over pictures and notes and prices, They only came out twice for as many times my car was in the shop, but good luck,i don't see it gonna be coverd.

Dude did you read their guidelines??? there's no way they are going to cover your car. "7. INELIGIBLE VEHICLES: Any vehicle not expressly listed on the current contract rate card: Vehicles with True Mileage Unknown (TMU), any vehicle that is flood damaged, Trucks over 1 ton classification, taxis, buses, and city and state owned vehicles, vehicles used for commercial purposes, vehicles used for racing competition, time trials or rallies, vehicles modified from manufacturers specifications." they also don't cover overheating. Really doesn't sound worth it.

I talked to the company that administrates the warranty and found out the marketing company lied to me. If you make any mods that increase the hp it will void the warranty. Also they do sent out inspectors to look at your car before approving major claims.
I called continental and told them that thier marketing supervisor lied to me. I cancelled my warranty.

Sorry if I mislead any of you.

If you have a stock car it's a good deal.
