I dont understand people with 200-300 dollar Bov's, the two stock ones if vented to out side work fine.

Chuck, you need to do what Kyle said and modify you duct to where the inlet is larger and you get as much airflow as possible. I am bidding on my ic and i should have it in this week. Once i get it in i will be fabing a nice fiberglass duct.

I will be selling two different types, one stock mount no cutting involed and on that you will have to cut that plastic part, but i havent designed that one yet, but it will be more.

Could you explain this a littel further, I was intrested in trying to build a bigger one for some of the people that wanted a bigger one, But I really only wanted to build one type of Inlet duct so that it was Plug and Play type of duct, in other words there was no need to Cut or Adjust anything.

Chuck. If you didnt know who this is, i am the 16 year old with the VR 93 R1 that was at the "Kart Zone" meeting. I know not to make the inlet to big. You can make it slightly larger because it is more surface area than the stock ic. Ya, a fiberglass one wont be to hard. After i get mine done i will post and see what everyone else thinks. Chuck, post some pics of your ducts so everyone can see.

Just ordered my ebay ic. But to the inlet duct......I can see what your saying but the cup analogy wasnt the best way to put it. It would be more like a cup with mesh screen at the bottom. The surface area of the stock ic is tiny and therefore has a tiny inlet. The surface area of the ebay ic is alot larger, shouldnt the inlet be larger as well? I understand the logic but i am saying make it slightly larger. I can understand overflow if the inlet was half the surface area of the ic.
Chuck, the design of the duct just doesnt seem right. You have that area where the inlet flows into the duct then it crimps to a smaller area. I think if you didnt crimp it and just made it go at an angle it would be better. My logic is that, once air flows through the inlet it hits the closest part of the ic then whatever is left over runs through the crimped area. This isn't using the whole surface area that the ic gives. IDK. I could be wrong. Other input...... |
The area where it is smaller is not my choose, the way the car is , there is some stuff that is in the way, thus you cant make the opening as big on that side.
Once you build one you will find out.. Agian i wanted to make it plug and play |
I know, it is because of the fuse box. I looked and i see that if you angle it from that far side of the intercooler, you can make it around the box. Its just having the most non obstructive duct is what im trying to create. Just like having less bends in an exhaust.

I no, but alum is hard to bend in so ways without a special bender for that stuff.
Air is just like water it is going to fill and move almost the same way, so i really dont see a problem right now. When you make it out of Fiberglass then you can do all that stuff, It is hard enuff to make these without more bends and stuff. |

Alright. I just recieved mine. I ordered only the i/c and it turns out they sent the pipes as well. So bid on the i/c that starts at $99. I will start fabricating my fiberglass duct tomorrow.

I emailed then just to make sure if they made a mistake on their listing or in fact they are giving both the intercooler and pipes and this is the reply I get in quotes. "nope were trying to sell the couplers and clamps for $125 are you gonna buy?? DUH!!!!!"
From that reply I believe they have a teenager answering their email. LOL. What I want to know is why the hell do they list all that info for their intercooler if its not included. |
Mine came with the intercooler, clamps, couplers all for $99. Shipping was $20? And it was here in less than 4 days. Nice.
