any new updates on anti detonation device?

More technical-minded people understand how the PFC works and can adjust the car from there (or get it tuned). However, I would lay a $20 down that the typical forum member who owns a PFC has no idea how it works. Before you disagree with that statement, go through the PFC and 3rd gen sections. You'll see a LARGE number of PFC owners that have absolutely no clue how an ecu-controlled fuel injection system works.
The reason most people buy an aftermarket ecu is because they read on the forum that they should. I don't see the anti-detonation device being much different.

You know one thing I don't understand is why they don't have any patents pending. They could avoid all these problems with some legal patents.
If it is something that they can't patent, they are going to get screwed anwyay...

I spoke with Skip and (without going into details on what it does) basically raises the ceiling of performance without detonating.
I can't speak for the dyno sheets that some of u don't feel show's a significant HP increase since most of us, inicluding me do not know the car and if it was agressively tuned or what not.........

I completely disagree. When you buy a Pettit ecu, for example, you have NO idea how the ignition timing or fuel maps have been changed. For that matter, the same goes for the PFC.

Sounds like more people are getting turned off by the dyno and the lack of detail. Me too.

The only issue is that even if it's not patentable product they want to maximize recovering R&D costs and make a little $$$ in their pocket before someone copies their hard work.

It isn't patent pending. A quick patent search of KDR's location, owner, or KDR shows that they have no patents, or patents pending.
If it was, patent's that are pending are protected by most of the same legal rights a full patent.

Skip's Anti-Kaboom device falls somewhere inbetween the 2 for rip-off-ease-of-copy
i talked to a few people that are supposedly turned off on AIM that have posted and most of them post suchs statements to rattle the bushes to see if more info will come out.
BTW, just outta curiousity, who is willing to sign a NDA and non-compete to get a little more info on this product?

When you buy an ECU, you know you are getting an ECU. When you buy this, you don't know what you are getting for your money. I'd find the purchase easier to make if I knew what it was.
And I mean that in the most non-whining way possible.

Afterall, he might be the sole owner for that and not Dave.
Sure they will have most of the legal rights and protection in pending state.
But it costs $$$$ to go after a copy cat.
I don't that KDR nor anyone would want to go that route if they can avoid it from a practical and cost perspective.

Of course from what i have read, the device's puirpose is to make your car more reliabile and more power is a by-product! but whatever the case "TO ME" if it makes more power thats all i need to know.

true, however, an ECU like the PFC is more complicated and time consumming to develop and copy than something like M2's intake box (which has been ripped off by others).

If I decided to get on I'd also sign paperwork. The reason I'd want to understand FULLY how the device works is so I can tune my car around it. You cant have a high performance machine that you manage yourself and not know the ins and out of something that can affect your fuel delivery. You have to understand how it works to manage it.

I'd be happy with a mechanic on the west coast telling me he has XX units installed, they work great, and he'll do mine for $$ XX and here are the things I need to worry about when I go to get it Dyno'd....
I know enough about My Engine, and ECU, so in theory I can explain it to you, but once you take the screws/bolts off, I have no clear understanding what every last sensor wire, and Junction box does... I think that holds true for 95% of the population and 90% of the people here... They don't know anything all the way to knowing in theory how combustion works, but would never pull an engine just to see what sensor X does...

Well keep in mind that a well written NDA will mean that ur responsible for not letting ur family, GF, friends, mechanic or anyone else from seeing it.

Batman
Not to start an off topic but you are so full of it. You have the stereotypical Cali mentality. YOu keep coming out her espewing stuff trying to be the man.
Bottom line is you are riding KDR's coat tails. You seem to be one of the people that "wants to get rich" off of KDR's R&D. So if you are never gonna say what this thing is all about then why do you continually talk about it??
Batman?? You call you car the Batmobile too dont you. Dork!! HAHA
