any mechanics on the forum?
Just wondering if there was any mechanics on the forum. That way if there's something wrong we can go to them for some help.

If you are just looking for someone to take the car to when it has problems, try asking people in the West RX-7 Forum. They can recommend someone.

Almost everyone on this forum, if you ask them!
But I have not gotten any bad info on this forum that was not obvious smack talk.
This is the place to come for any and all tech questions.
Even if someone does post wrong info there are always 5 people there to quickly correct them.
Always do a search first before you ask questions. The people that do know what they are doing are not simpathetic to your plight if you did not do a little research yourself.

I am a mechanic for a large international shipping company and do all the work on my car. Trust me your better off not to many people know what the hell is going on with a 3rd gen or any RX-7 for that matter. I give the people who always help people out on this board a lot of credit.

I think some people are where I am. When I bought my third gen I somewhat knew what I was getting into. I didnt have tons of mechancal experience, only working on my dirtbike perty much. Well after tons of research and reading on this forum I install every part I get for my car. I'm still perty young too, 18. If you try and install a part chances are you can do it. If you get stuck come on the forum and post a ? thats what I do. Oh and get a shop manual.

jane, you're in mountain view, about 5-10 mins from Ivan in sunnyvale. He is a mechanic at the Mazda dealership and also works on our cars at this other place or his palace (house). let me know if you want his #.

I'm a mechanic and i'm in San Francisco. But my philosophy is to remove all the stuff under the intake manifold and use block off plates and go non sequenital. That way tracing down a problem will be a lot easier. 4 vac lines are a lot easier to trace than a complete rats nest.
