YMMV...depends on the use (abuse?) of the tranny. brake torquing is a sure way to grenade the tranny. using a PFC doesn't help as lockup doesn't occur normally. there is always the dreaded "neutral drop". heat is the enemy. the best thing you can do while still retaining the stock internals is to switch to a good synthetic atf. make sure your trans cooler is in good shape. mazda didn't put a drain plug in for the atf. it also takes many many quarts of atf.

I forget who made the adaptor??? (I bought it over 2 years ago), but it keeps the stock starter location and I went with a custom built converter from Edge Racing that basically bolts to the stock mazda flexplate and connects to the shaft of the TH350 trans...
only prob. is I needed to go with a single turbo due to some clearance issues with the adaptor plate...
I'll post a bunch of pics when I get the car back from KDR...
