Annoying Wheel Clicking Noise??
Has anyone had this or knows what it is?? The rear wheels make a clicking sound when rolling, but when the brakes are applied it stops. I cannot duplicate this noise when the car is on jacks & in gear, and the driveline seems ok when I check it static. The brake calipers are tight. Anyone know about this??

Does it do it when you back up as well as go forward? Check the C/V (constant velocity) joints.
EDIT: from Wiki:
Wear in the outer joint usually shows up as vibration at certain speeds, a bit like the vibration caused by an unbalanced wheel. To determine if the joint is worn, a driver should find a big empty parking lot and drive the car slowly in tight circles, left and right. Worn joints will make a rhythmic clicking or cracking noise. Wear in the inner joints shows up as a "clunk" or "pop" when applying power, or if severe, when lifting off the throttle.

I think Natey nailed it. I'll try out the parking lot trick when I can (I'm working 60hr weeks) Thanks for the quick replies guys. The rims are after market & new. Good tip to know though.
