Did your lawyer tell you that? Ask him/her to cite some authority to back it up.

well it doesn't take a lawyer or rocket scientist to guess that it's BAD news...

i agree with some of the above statements: this 1 engine problem may be hurting their business. does pineapple have any employees that are member of this forum? if so, they must have seen this thread. its been at the top for quite a while.
i personally dont know weather pineapple motors are good or not. ive seen lots of threads with great reviews and ive also seen a couple with bad reviews. im sure there are more good threads. but with everything, the bad points always seem to stick out like a sore thumb.
many rotary enthusiast come to this forum daily, to find answers to anything and everthing, such as where to go for a rebuild or ported motor. anyone who sees this thread will probably find another company besides pineapple.
im not bashing pineapple in anyway. i have no idea what the quality of their motors and service are. im just calling it like i see it.

it's a public forum, anyone can browse and read this...

funny though how everyone from the oregon area seems to throw out immature insults towards me...

i think it's funny how people can take sides on a situation that doesn't involve them, oh well...

Can I paint your house? You're right, making mistakes is part of being human. On the other hand, failing to take responsibility for mistakes is part of being an *******.

Worlds to live by

I am currently working on the situation, but to give you an update on what Rob is doing to fix the situation, I have received no phone calls or letters from him since December 4th....

He has my money, and my motor, and obviously no associated guilt or remorse

As to what I've been up to and focusing on....

The links whill get deleted if posted here but those of you interested show go check out the

"Rotaty Engine Building and Porting" forum at n o p i s t o n s dot com. Look for the threads titled "Big Name Porting Shops Who Blow It" and "Big Name Porting Shops Ii" where you will see pictures of my two disassembled Pineapple motors and Banzaitoyota's motor. Its worth your time to check out the lack of workmanship put in these motors.

Let me ask EVERYONE on this thread a simple question, how does a bearing fail? 1) A lack of oil 2) Bearing was put in incorrectly? If it was put in incorrectly, I doubt you would get 1500 miles out of it. 3) Bad bearing to begin with, again, I doubt if you would get 1500 miles out of it. So, I guess that brings us back to 1.

ok and it could spin in its housing also. it could last 1500 miles. it takes some time to wear a bearing out. **** even when putting a seal in you can even pinch it.
if he didnt have enough oil in his engine .the oil light would come on and **** thats still enough oil to lube the f@#ken bearings. i would say 3 out 5 qts would still be ok . so i dont think so . but any thing is possible. may be whe he put the engien back in and forgot to put the oil in . and then he test start it . then say **** i forgot to put oil in ran over turned the car off put oil in then started agian .

amazing, another person from oregon trying to sound smart- this guy doesn't even have an FD?

rob told me when i was at his shop that the one thing he loves to do more than any other is R&D, well i've since spoken with someone who does just that on these motors and these bearings...he said 1500miles is nothing, especially if you baby the motor

any raised spots on the bearings, any imperfections on the rotor center section or the technique for installing the bearing could cause this failure

after looking at some of pineapple's bearings out of another motor...it appears that they get quite sloppy when installing these

actually, i was on the phone with joel of pineapple and he instructed me to pull fuses, pour oil down the oil filter pedastal, crank it over a while and then put the juice to it

i did shut it off immediately because my 850cc primaries weren't programmed....and then it ran like a charm when i fixed that

Hey DUFUS, you should make another trip to Oregon and I'll pick you up. Then I can show you what I really know. And what does not having an FD have ANYTHING to do with YOU not putting oil in your engine? So, there are about 5 people complaining about their Pineapple motor, out of the thousands of satisfied people...seems like a VERY good statistic! It's really funny to me that people actually believe EVERY word that comes out of your mouth, like you were a Priest or something!

Regardless, there is still no excuse for the shoddy work that Pineapple has been putting out. Have you seen the thread on the 'other' forum?

You're ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! Rob also agrees and has said that they've dropped the ball in the past. BUT, why would he choose to not warrant some peoples motors? I'll tell you why, some peoples stories don't add up!...so, if you lie, make sure you got your story straight! But, just imagine that he warranted EVERY single client, regardless of reason or fault? It wouldn't be a business for long, now would it? I still can't believe he offers warranties, I've dealt with other builders that have said, "sorry pal!" and I couldn't do anything about it.

Multiple reasons a bearing can fail.
1) Bearing was bad when the engine was rebuilt. (Yes they can last 1500 miles or more before failing).
2) Bearing pressed in wrong or tab not depressed.
3) Bad seal which causes blow by and forces rotor down/angle causing the rotor (bearing) to "smack" the eccentric shaft. This will ruin a good bearing.
4) Debris in engine...this one is obvious.
5) Lack of oil or oil pressure
6)Over reving (rare)

well, read all of my posts and i have revealed a lot about my personality, technique, and mechanical knowledge

you have just shown your maturity to rival a 13yr old adolescent and you are ignoring the obvious factors that have not come out of rob's mouth- such as

how many motors has he rebuilt with the "5yr warranty"

how many warranty claims has he had?

what is the distribution of failures of these claims, and how many has he denied?

Are you the guy who used a T shirt for a air filter on their Pineapple motor? Then it was sucked into the engine? Just wondering. CJ

are you the guy who cannot read dates and posts correctly?

that was not a pineapple motor, that was less than 2weeks after obtaining the car...and the air filter issue was an issue with another party cranking the car without warning

Quick Reply: am I the o nly FD waiting on a motor from pineapple?
