CJ, that was me. And when I asked ROB about those temps he said it was nothing to be concerned about. And that he (ROB) has customers running at 240º with evans. As soon as I saw those temps, I was on the phone with Pineapple (Rob) verifying them. Rob says the temps I was running were not considred hot by him. I'm guessing/expecting his tune will change when he opens the motor up. I still don't have an answer to the shitty dyno runs.
My beef is with Joel telling me to "Run Prestone Block sealer" in it. Go figure.

For CJ's further clarification, the temps he quoted were also read from a Malfunctioning Mechanical gage (New Sunpro). The engine temps stabilized at 195-205 º when replaced with an Autometer gage

Wait. I thought you said you ran the engine at no more than 7 psi because it was still being broken in?
From 10-21-03:
"1500 mile update!
no compression on rear rotor, was running 6psi with the proper streetport ignition map"

i was running with my boost controller off when it died, the engine was broken in at 1000 miles.....
at the time it went we did not know it was bearings, we thought it could be seals...that's why i mentioned the psi i was running

I would just like to add that I don't beleive Rob is a bad guy at all or that he doesn't do first rate quality. Everytime I called to speak with him about my motor he always gave me his full attention (up to 45 minutes once!) and addressed all of my concerns. However, I also know that he is not the only one doing all the work around there. So even if he is an exceptional engine builder (which it seems like he is), if the people under him aren't doing the same level of work he does, than his customers (and business) are going to suffer. The engine builder that was posting on here claims that he's never had a returned engine, that's obviously because he's done every one of those engines himself. I think for the prices we're paying to Pineapple (I payed $5800) we should be entitled to the same work that gave them their reputation, Rob's work. That's what we're paying for afterall, not for secondrate work done by some guy he hired off the street. That's practically using your reputation to sell a quality product and then outsourcing to cheap labor to make a buck. Hopefully this will all turn out well and Rob can maintain his stellar reputation as an engine builder.
- And btw, when you post pictures, just post the link, that way the whole page doesn't turn to an rediculously high resolution causing you to scroll back and forth to see everyone's post.

Rob has always taken the time to reply to my e-mails and explain any concerns to me.
However it seems that Pineapple has been getting a lot of bad press lately, and it would make me think twice before sending my engine to him.
What ever the problem is, it needs to be corrected and is up to the man himself to take care of it.

well, i'll post some more details to update you guys
verbal communication via the telephone about the motor (my oil results, my dealings with racing beat over the flywheel, etc) have proved impossible, everytime i mention my name when i call i seem to be defferred, messages are taken, rob's with a customer, etc
now i'm being told that rob mailed me a letter, and that i am to wait for it until i call them again
so i don't know what to do now, i just paid for my new tag + insurance for another year on my car, this waiting game is getting old

Brian, I got your PM and and link. I'll file my compliant this weekend.
Your latest update is just what I expected. It doesn't surprise me that Rob won't answer the phone now. Don't waste your time with e-mails either. Never once did he return a phone call while I played this game for months. Only way I'd get to talk to him is if he answered the phone. Totally different experience from his fast replies when purchasing a motor.
It took him a month to reply to my certified letter with a three sentence letter that had such poor sentence structure you have to assume what he's trying to say. I know Rob can write understandable e-mails because I have a stack of correspondence when asking questions about having a motor built.
I've been looking at the Rotary aviation 13B overhaul video in preparation to tear my two rotten Pineapples apart.

well, i'm just sorta confused as to why i'm the one receiving a certified letter, this whole situation is backwards....i paid $4800 to have a motor rebuilt, i got 1500miles out of it and sent it back to him, now i can't even talk to him on the phone and he's sending ME certified mails??
