I drive a Miata daily too. You may as well be invisible in that car. Oh well, having the top down gives you a better angle to toss things, give hand gestures, etc. ;) Seriously, I'm not one to actually act on road rage, but thoughtless parkinglot pedestrians really piss me off. It's tough to subdue that knee-jerk reaction of yelling obscenities with the top down. I get lots of funny looks.

haha i love top-down schenanagans... i know EXACTLY what your talking about

Still is, Jason. ;)
45k on original motor. Keeping it Profec'd at 10psi helps out. :) Close call though and almost flat-spotted the ES100's.

Thank you Exxon ;) GOD BLESs AMERICA right? i guess u just blessed him with Lincoln and free'd him for the slavery of ignorance..and stupidity

I had a close call recently. I was driving on a side street, luckly i was only going about 20mph but it was a narrow street with alot of parked cars and alot of traffic. traffic was moving in my lane. I had the right of way and this lady makes a left turn right infront of me i see her coming closer and closer. it practically wasnt even infront of me her right fender was where my left fender was. As soon as i realized she wasnt stopping i cut thewheel to the right and hit my brakes i came within a inche of her and a parked cadilac. luckly i was going slow. The bitch just kept driving like she never even saw me. I just sat there for like 5 mins to calm down then i chased her down i caught her like 3 lights up she wouldnt even looks at me. all i could do was say learn how to drive cause i cant do anything to a old lady with kids in the car. plus she made a left turn into a neigborhood and i wasnt gonna follow

P.S. I wonder how many fd owners have been saved by their abs systems, i know i have been saved a 1/2 a dozen times at least. something to think about when weight reductioning and pulling your abs system...

Never, those drivers are much too good to ever need their ABS. They know that, and no amount of logic will ever convince them otherwise. They will never have to panic stop in bad conditions, so they will never need it. They are the gods of driving, and they know it.

but remember that hail has fallen a long way so it has very high velocity. if i threw a handful of hail at your car at 20mph, i guarantee you nothing would happen. same with the pennies... im sure you pissed him off, but i seriously doubt it did any more damage to his car then you getting out a a light and throwing the pennies at him  . the only damage you may have caused is damage to the people's windshield behind the next car that runs over those pennies. seems as you bombed the wrong people
Your physics sucks, and you are wrong. If you doubt it, throw a handful at your own car hard, the pennies are harder than the paint, and will chip and scratch it.

This one deserves a gold star ;)

if you threw a sponge at an FD it would probably dent.

how does my physics suck? i mean im sure it does  but tell me where ive gone wrong! maybe im just weak, but i dont think its possible to put a star or crack in your window by throwing a penny at it. also, he just chucked them backwards... i seriously doubt that much of a dent will result (if any) or even much of a scratch for that matter, from a penny traveling at 20MPH. i have a few old body pannels in my back yard that id be willing to "lincoln bath" for some results... trust me, unless you threw them in a penny roll nothing much will happen... sorry to burst your bubble. but think about all the damage they will do to other cars once they get kicked up on the freeway... food for thought guys... i guess its just me, but i think its better to just let stuff like this slide if nothing happend

First of all your physics do suck. The penny is not going to be traveling at 20mph just because 50mph-70mph=20mph. Think about it, ever been follwing behind a truck carrying stones and they go over a bump and the whole truck bounces and some rocks slide off the back, hit the road, bounce up and break your winshield?? I have, trust me it happens. Second, it is definately possible to break a window by throwing a penny at it, if you don't think so, throw a handful of pennys at your windsheild and see what happens. I'm not trying to be a d*ck, I'm just pointing out that your calculations are way off.

Assud 05-04-04 06:54 PM

im laffing my ass off at work right now, great story, brightened my day!

Ice breaks when it hits your car, thats why it doesnt do anything, if you threw a peice of ice at your car with the same physical propertiesas a penny it would dent, guaranteed.
