You can drill them out but it takes time and patience. You will need to make a pilot hole for a GOOD ectractor set.( snap-on etc..) NOT an EZ-out which will break off inside the hole causing you to curse even louder. You may have to just drill it out in small increments to the point where you can "collapse" the remainder of the stud and clear the hole of debris.

Also left handed drill bits work well Sometimes if you can just get the bit to catch the stud it sometimes backs it out wothout any extra work. but PB blaster that stud for a day or soo. Also,.. ALWAYS use a LUBE when drilling. Nothing will destroy a bit quicker than excess heat from lack of cutting lube.

If you have access to a good machinest you may want to swing the engine by and have them remove it. What takes me 2 days to remove( and I think i am Z"oretty" decentat removals will take my machinest with the better tools 20 minutes to 1 hour depending on the akwardness of the piece being worked on. Machinest's should be treated like gold. they save my *** all the time on broken studs and ****. and i have never been charged more than 50 bucks.

is any of the stud sticking out still? if so take a bolt of the same diameter and go to the store and get an extractor socket. if not and you have no experience drilling out a hardened bolt get someone to do it. you will need a couple of cobalt bits, a center punch and a dremel to bring the stud flush with the housing to center punch it and start drilling. did it break going on or coming off? if it is realy tight the ez out may not work and when that breaks off lodged in the stud it is a REAL bitch to drill. glwi

also PB Blaster is your new best friend. use it everywhere all the time
