9rpm redline....
just wondering what mods would you have to do to increase the redline to 9-9.5 or more .... or if its even worth it .. this car will more likely be racing more often than street drivig so i think the extra revs will help out the turbo...........i know you will need a computer tuning and lot of fuels.. all that is already coverd just wanted to know what else....

that depends on your turbo, it is possible to get out of the turbo's effective range.
you would need to replace the stationary gears, unless you wanted your motor to grenade itself.
I wouldent bother with it, the amount of money wouldent be worth it. now if you were building a race car/engine than the mod's wouldent be so bad.

Stock FD stationary gears are hardened and have the the muti-window oil port design like the old competion versions, so they should be OK.
But I would still side and face clearance the rotors, lock the rotor bearings and snap ring the rotor gear (unless the were also upgraded in FD parts). After all said and done you still need to port the engine to get the flow to make the hi rpms' worthwhile, change the turbos, fuel syetem, ECU ...
Now the question is Racing in what class to allow internal mods?

well right now its getting built .. it hast a full port job and fuel..850/1600cc , fuel pump and fpr and a apexi fc .... full 3" catless exhasut and hks downpipe, greddy 3 row intercooler 4 puck race clutch ... 9 pound flywheel.. and hks racing sucktion intake.....its still got stock turbos... but im planning on upgrading the turbo to a t78 - or a t88 very very soon.. im mostly just going to be built to 1/4 race .. and im looking for arounf 550rwhp... high mid 10s and everything except the differendtial and suspension are taken care of... so i think the 9.5k redline would help plenty with either greddy turbos... wouldnt u guys agree...

I think to spin a rotary at that high of RPM's you need to lighten and balance the rotors and also balance the eccentric shaft.
You might want to ask the guys in the racetech forum

my t78 spools at around 4000rpm although you dont get full boost till 4400rpm. the t88 doesnt kick in till about 5-5500rpm.
Id agree with rynberg. talk to ernieT. He has a GT42 making nearly 600hp and his spools around 4-5000rpm. although im not sure talk to him yourself
im not that much into quarter mile racing. Im more of the highway runners with the supras & cobras
Youll easily get into the 10's with a t88. but like i said the lag is to bad for the street!
and if you plan on ******* with the cops the t78 is best for you. Had one experience where i was in 3000rpms and when the t78 started kickin in the radar detector went off. never got to spool and thank god it did.
Now take the T78 to the highway and it becomes a totaly different monster. the way it kicks in is without notice. Just make sure you have your hand on the wheel!

well .... since ive had the car iv only put 7k miles on it thats in 2 1/2 years so i dont drive it much .....i do alot of street racing( the closest track is like 3 hours away) when i get the turbo its probably going to be a 1/4 mile car only..... for the street i got a sr20 240sx.... i think i will end up going with the t88 ....just to acoplish the 10s... so should i just leave the 8k redline alone??? or will at least another .5 k help it ??

Also, arent T-88's a bit old technology here? I would look more into Garrett's GT line. Such as the 35/40's, 40's, or 42R's...

I did it once, then the guy I was racing got himself killed by hitting the back of an 18 wheeler at +120mph...
moral of the story, Stick to the tracks. Street "Cred" isent worth your life.

acutally when i do street race its not in a open public road... and ive neve raced say at a fucken stop light or something... i guess i do the irresponsible thing a little responsible....were im from your more likely to hit a corn field then to hit another car so it not like fast in the furious ****...... we got the 1/4 painted on a 2 lane road with a cornfield on one sine and a empty fiel in the other side....patterson is only like 14k people so its not all mainstream to go out and race ur moms cars.... i yeah i also think its not a good idea but seriously do i need to drive 3 hours just to step on the car and race someone???i go to the track as often as i can .. but i sometimes just race it on the street.... i know the t88 is alittle old on the technology side but i guess u cant argue with so many 10sec t88 equiped rx7.... as for the garret gt line ive heard great things but i still think the t88 would be a better set up for me.....

I know a few guys with greddy t88s and a few with gt42s. Seems like the greddy turbos are able to take more of a beating then the gt42s. I know of 2 gt42r's that went bad, I dont know what exactly happened to the turbos i'll investigate though..
Street racing is bad, but whenever there is a street race i'm usualy there I just luv it more then the track. Guess its just all the adrelaline, but out here we block the traffic on the highways so if anyone if going to get hurt its going to be the drivers. Its a risk you they take, same risk you take going down a NHRA 1/4mile track without the worry of cops. Most of the time they're not a problem when traffic is blocked off lol..
A-Spec can set you up with the gt42 kit and ask ErnieT about his kit he made 600+HP with it at 30psi..

A bit off topic but im sure EVERYONE goes wot on public streets at least once in every drive with their fd. Some people will deny it but it doesnt take a full sprint to cause an accident. You could be going wot in 1st and lose control and hit another moving car or a parked car only going 40mph.
No i dont condone street racing but people act like we're all goody goody. If we're out having a cruise at a meet, you can bet your *** people will fool around on the highway doing a couple of runs. YES even when there is "some" traffic.
I dont street race myself but if im out on a cruise or going home from a meet, ill have a little fun. Thats what its all about. Not everyone has access to a track and everyone needs to aid their need for speed in one way or another.
