99 spec uim to 93 model quick question
Hello guys i convert my 93 fd to 99 spec solenoid system with black box.
I have question about 99 spec uim.
There are 2 main nipples one is connecting to purge solenoid and the other to black box . Were the map sensor are connected ? In 93uim i have extra nipple who is connected but in 99 as i said is only 2.
Is connected to this nipple ?

That lower one you have circled is for the map sensor. On that side of the manifold, the other nipple is for connection to the side of the black box....and there's the double throttle of course.
If there's some confusion, the purge was mounted to the manifold in the late cars. This might help with confusion https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...folds-1152249/

I believe Petros has been doing that on an EU LHD over time, if the memory is accurate! Other than tidying up the area under the manifold with most of the check valves and solenoids now in one spot, functionally the new solenoids don't seem to offer a reliability advantage over the old style - and now the box itself introduces the potential for leaks, when exposed to temperature cycles over a few years.

connectors are different, all the brackets for things like the magic box, and the coils are different, its possible, Mazda did it, but its a lot of little stuff in addition to just the box

Thanks for the response, everyone. It looks easier to maintain though. The heat issue can be addressed by ceramic coating your downpipe, or you could go a step further and ceramic coat the twin turbos as well. Anyway, I was checking to see if there was a write-up or something, but it looks like there isn't.
