quicksilver_rx7 -----The reason JT-Imports never sold them is because the ones from the 99-02 RX7s, were about $300 a pop, so we had only made available the fan blades themselves. The RX8 motors are 2 different types and 2 different PNs.

Sorry to bring this thread back up... I need to know which fans pull more air, 7 or 5 blade??

I was told by someone that between 93 4 vs 5 blade, 4 pulls more air. I'm now thinking about buying couple of these 7 blades if they pull more.. Any input from some vets would be appreciated!

I have installed the whole 99 assembly (fans + motors),and the biggest difference i noted,is the lower noise level. The fans seem to pull more air,but not too much, maybe a 10% compared to the 93's...

total price for fans and motors?

any reason not to get two 5's or two 7's? Are they for speed reasons (lo, med, hi)?

Well, Far as my understanding is that Mazda put 4 and 5 blade configuration because of the location of SMIC. I believe 4 blade is located under the SMIC and pulls more air than the 5 blade. I'm guess its the same thing with 99+ 5 and 7 blade configuration.

Also, reading this thread and response I got in the past, the 99 motors draw less current. I guess my thing is, I'm not going to have a SMIC (I have FMIC) and the radiator will be verticle. I would like to put higher CFM fans if I can as I'm having hard time channelling air.. But if 4 blades pull more air (current set up), then I'm not going to worry about getting the 99+ blades.

motor : N3G1-15-150

7 blade fan : RF1S-15-140

5 blade fan : RF2A-15-140

front fan bolt : B595-15-T59

Be aware that the cable connectors are different from the 93-95,you 'll have to use the old one.

Motors were about 22,000 yen each prior to a couple of recent sizeable Mazda price increases, probably best searching Yahoo for 2nd hand, complete assemblies.
