I can get similar adhesive thin rubber strips or felt, but they will still peel off unless you're really careful during assembly and the adhesive works a lot better.
So now I'm thinking a rubber undercoat spray on the faces of the panels where you can't see them might work best - this would prevent plastic / plastic rubbing and squeaking and they would have the benefit of making them feel/sound more solid.
Hmmmmmmmm, this could work very well if it adheres to the plastic.

http://www.edesignaudio.com (look for eDead. They have liquid and sheets with varying thickness)
You can also get dynamat... but you are paying a premium for the name.
It won't help your performance, but it should help your interior driving experience I think any good car audio forums/people will have tons of information on how to chase the little squeaks in your car since that's what we end up trying to fend off, but 100x worse when we put in our systems.

ok seriously, if you're worried about it adding weight leave your watch at home next time you drive. Or skip orange juice with your breakfast. Maybe vomit before all rides.
You're ridiculous. Then you propose another solution equally as heavy that may not even work. NICE FIRST POST.

And when you are talking about dampening the whole vehicle, you are talking more than just "skipping your OJ with your breakfast"
i also think the threads posted later on are just additional reinforcement for my comment. The reason i brought it up in this thread was because it hadn't been pointed out . Really, there are plenty of benefits to putting sound dampening in the vehicle, with the only real drawback being the weight issue(if you are going to layer everything) and if you get the cheap stuff, it has a chance of melting during hot weather. I'm not going to argue anything further though, because there is plenty of proof on this forum and others.
Next time I'll just ask you guys if I should buy an FD as my first post, I suppose.

I was not talking about the whole vehicle. Do you think i was suggesting tiger hair for everywhere in the car that may vibrate? No tiger hair stops the squeaks and addds strength and ridigidity to a piece that often bears a lot of weight, the center console hump. Sound dampening material will not do the same. I agree sound deadening material works great when used for it's purpose of reducing noise.
You want to silence your cabin use sound dampening material.
You want to repair your center console hump so that it doesn't squeak, use tiger hair.

or you can get it covered in carbon fiber, solves the finish problem, and the weakness problem and my panels don't squeak. it also costs less than new panels and you can fix your broken and scratched ones.
