ha glad mine has absolutley 0 squeaks and my 93 interior has no scratches or peeling

 

This'll add a little weight to the car... (actually quite a bit depending on how much you are planning on putting) but has anyone thought of using car sound dampening material? You can get the liquid stuff or an adhesive sheet like edead or brown bread etc. It's pretty heavy though, because it is meant for sound dampening, but in effect it works well. Depending on if you are planning on doing door panels etc. it'll make your sound system sound better, block out road noise and should help make the car's interior sound like it's built a bit better.

You can also get dynamat... but you are paying a premium for the name.

It won't help your performance, but it should help your interior driving experience I think any good car audio forums/people will have tons of information on how to chase the little squeaks in your car since that's what we end up trying to fend off, but 100x worse when we put in our systems.

Don't worry buddy, I'm not planning on getting the 7 for my audiophile hopes and dreams. My idea was merely a suggestion.

And when you are talking about dampening the whole vehicle, you are talking more than just "skipping your OJ with your breakfast"

i also think the threads posted later on are just additional reinforcement for my comment. The reason i brought it up in this thread was because it hadn't been pointed out . Really, there are plenty of benefits to putting sound dampening in the vehicle, with the only real drawback being the weight issue(if you are going to layer everything) and if you get the cheap stuff, it has a chance of melting during hot weather. I'm not going to argue anything further though, because there is plenty of proof on this forum and others.

Next time I'll just ask you guys if I should buy an FD as my first post, I suppose.

 

Damn I duno I love my 93 panels. They honestly dont make any noise personally maybe everything is sealed well. I did have a problem with the door panel side alitle bit but i fixed it. Anyways thats disappointed to hear we cannot purchase brand new 93 interior parts anymore...ARE YOU SURE? lol that cant be someones gotta have em'. Anywyas I cant buy the 94 too damn cheap looking..I do have to say the 93 seem to scratch easy tho

 

You can still purchase 93 panels. They have an updated coating and the cost will be more than the 94+ but you can still buy them.

 

I was not talking about the whole vehicle. Do you think i was suggesting tiger hair for everywhere in the car that may vibrate? No tiger hair stops the squeaks and addds strength and ridigidity to a piece that often bears a lot of weight, the center console hump. Sound dampening material will not do the same. I agree sound deadening material works great when used for it's purpose of reducing noise.

You want to silence your cabin use sound dampening material.
You want to repair your center console hump so that it doesn't squeak, use tiger hair.

 

or you can get it covered in carbon fiber, solves the finish problem, and the weakness problem and my panels don't squeak. it also costs less than new panels and you can fix your broken and scratched ones.
