I did the 4.3 ring and pinion a few months ago. My car is a stock motor with the 99' 280ps twins in sequential with assorted bolt-ons. My rear street tires are 255-40-17s. Acceleration is definitely improved. Shifting into second comes alot quicker now. About the only downside IMO is, the miscalibration of the speedometer. If I'm cruising at say an indicated 80mph, the car is really doing about 70-72. More reason for me not to drive the car as much on the street now, so the mileage doesnt't creep up any faster :-)

you guys never tried to order the japanese RZ transmission speedo gear?
I plan on using a GTUs tranny speedo gear in my t2 when I do 4.3's.......
Would probably be a little bit of a paint unless you're doing a clutch swap, not even sure where it mounts on the tranny, never had mine out! But I'm rebuilding my tranny so it will be more than oppurtune for it
