Oops I forgot to mention.

Did your FD ever have the FUEL recall done to it?

The lounge thread: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=306526

And as for the FE lasting 3 seconds You need to get them checked on a regular basis and those $15 small ones are pretty useless I tried to put out a kitchen fire with one and ended up drowning it in flour/baking soda.

On a better note...if you had marshmellows and hotdogs it wouldn't have been so bad.

This is why I carry 2 fire extinguishers, one for backup, and always check my fuel lines like a hawk. It was a small reason I preferred non-sequential simplification, and is also a reason I plan to go single turbo.

The rear rotor and the exhaust manifold are the main flash points in a fuel or coolant related fire.

Seriously, no screwing around when it comes to fire related type things:

You can store the exting. on the left side of the driver's floor (strapped down of course) if of medium/small size. Then store one in the trunk or storage compartments.

I almost had the same thing happen to me, when I went to GothamRacing my fuel pulsation damper went out and started shooting spurts of fuel under the intake manifold but luckily Steve caught-it before we went tuning. I could just imagine what could have happened.
