3800 lb FD!

Hello all, I am in the military and I just recently PCS'ed (moved) to Oklahoma from Florida and I decided to pack as much of my personal stuff as I could in my car as the military pays an incentive for this per pound. Well, as the title says, I managed 3820 lbs with the tire trailer, the car is 2780 lbs empty, almost 1100 lbs of shiat.

Anyway, here are some pics, thought it might be some sort of record, like "Most crap hauled by an FD"

And Eddie, I'll be back in FL, it'll just be a few years, at the most 20! So you just have to keep your 7, I'll still have mine for sure (knock on wood).

Hey Jon,

There seems to be alot of 'firsts' we attribute your experimention.

On a related note, I moved my ENTIRE drumset in my Touring. Without the BOSE, my bass just fit snug with the hatch closed.
And, another time, I removed the front wheel off my freestyle bike and put the frame w/rear tire on the cubbies.

180sx-x : The car was a bit more sensitive to bumps, and the roads get progressively worst as you leave Florida to OK, it bottomed out the suspension a few times on bad bumps, but my spring rates are a couple hundred pounds over stock, thank god

wiblergt : I don't know exactley, probably around $400, maybe more, it's called a partial DITY(do it yourself) move, as I have the military move the rest of my stuff

rajeevx7 : Wow, the drum set is impressive!

BRADYMAHONEY : Thanks man, I'm thinking of going to Hallett for one of their track days, you ever been there?

Ya da man, Jon!

It's actually a slightly darker version of Mazda TGM found on the RX-8, and does look so sweet.

Speaking of paint, we need to chat. I'll catch up with you sometime soon. Maybe just an e-mail... I know you are working long hours.

And yeah! Let's see a pic of you and the car next to a jet of some sort (F-15 or F-16, ideally).

Yeah, the TGM I used was the '99 color, 25G, the RX-8 and all 2004 mazdas use a different code.

I thought the paint was just jacked up, but then I saw that they changed the color slightly sometime after '99

Jon

edit: Oh, and I'll take some good pics as soon as I wash her, damn Oklahoma dust is no joke, the car is a light brown color from one week!!!! I might just take a dirsty pic to show. Look for updates this weekend, hopefully.

love the color of the car. that interior pic of you with the car stuffed reminds me of when i came home at the end of my second year in college, car filled with clothes, etc.
