34row dual oil cooler kit, anyone have insight?
Im looking for some insight on the 34 Row Dual Oil Cooler kit. How effective is this kit, and does it make that great of an improvement? Also, to anyone who has it, what size fittings/lines does it come with? Thanks guys.

I don't have any personal contact with anyone who has/used the 34 row, but the smaller one(25 row...but I can't remember) I do know someone with hit. He used -10 oil lines and AN fittings. When I get back to Okinawa, I'll ask him for the info...since I will be going from dual stock oil coolers to big single oil cooler.
The friend of mine is using it on a bridgeported 13Brew...says that the oil temps have kept fairly low, but can't tell since he's still breaking the engine in.

Who is the manufacturer/vendor? Is it two 34-row coolers, two 17-row coolers, one 34-row cooler or what? I have the Crooked Willow Racing dual kit with ducts and it uses AN-10 fittings and SS braided hoses.

They are 2 34 row oil coolers made by Earl's. However, sells the kit for $1400. The reason I ask is because there is an Earl's shop about 5 mins from me and I figured it would a lot cheaper to go through them for the oil coolers, then head to Home Depot for some Brass fittings rather than the expensive anodized ones. I just would like to know the correct size hoses/lines/fittings and whether or not it is a good investment in keeping my temps down which overall in the long run will extend engine life. It is probably best to use AN stuff. I don't think it will be much cheaper to use brass and still maintain a good system. AN fittings swivel, so they won't come loose, which I am not sure you will be able to duplicate with brass. You'll need an oil thermostat, too, which is available from Mocal and probably other manufacturers as well. You can get fittings to connect to the engine from Mazdatrix.

It's probably the RotaryExtreme Kit. I think that the 34 row would be very effective but only if you had a front end with larger openings. The Dual 25 row coolers would be nice too. The Crooked Willow dual kit I have works just fine for me. In the Texas heat 95deg + I still stay below 175.
If you are trying to build your own Kit I am pretty sure that the Earls 34 row coolers have -12AN fittings. PM me and I can send you a picture of my kit maybe it will help you figure out what you need. If I remember correctly, before I bought my kit I priced all of the parts at around 600-675 dollars not including the ducts. I would have had to cut and fit all of the hoses and fittings myself. I didn't mind paying a little extra because I was happy with the kit.

That was my thinking, too -- I added it all up and the difference between the total and the kit price made the kit seem like a good deal to me. Cutting hoses, installing fittings, making brackets, and trying to make some ducts left me thinking that I was much better off with the kit.

brought this thread back because my search led me to it. i was going to post a thread asking the capacity of the stock Gen III oil coolers.
i am cooking up a way to use it in a Gen I car. i'm pretty sure i won't be able to get 2 coolers in the space i have, but if one Gen III cooler has more capacity than my stock cooler (1981) then, it would be worth it, to me.
