I guess the greddy intercooler silicone couplers aren't made to handle higher boost. I launched the car, hit 31 lbs of boost and then BOOM while I saw the hood lift up. Went to the pits and saw that the coupler had completely ripped in half....
Anyone have problems with these?
Notice the hood up....

It doesn't take much rubbing to severly weaken a fabric-reinforced coupler, or movement of the piping to cause a pinch that will tear it. Could it be that the piping ends could have abraded it, or that the torque of the engine caused the coupled pipes to try moving relative to each other?

Actually I don't run 31 lbs of boost. I normally run 19 lbs but my wasgate line burned in half on the run before causing it overboost. Thanks to the awesome tune by Jeff Feltman (Jeff48), nothing broke.

So Eric, is it true that you keyed your own car to get the insurance money to do the repaint and flares? And how are those butt-*******-ugly wheels working out for you? Have you broken into the 10s yet with your magical turbo?
