3 Questions

1- Its first time since it has rained in my city as i bought my FD last October. I drove it today, and when i was back there was this strange strong smell like a Hot Pan left dry on stove unattended for a little longer, from rear end of my car i-e when you come out from your car and stand by with your C-piller. I opened my hood as something is toasted but it was normal.. what could it be?

2- As i told that its first time i have experienced driving my FD in wet conditions, i have felt enormous grip from the tires im using (Dunlop 265/35 R18 Z), which is of course strange, since it always looses traction as i WOT on a dry road. I was thinking either my primary turbo is F&*^%d or else these tires are meant for wet surface. what do you guys think?

3- since i was continously WOT'ing my car scared from the primary turbo all the way (10 Miles approx) to figure out the prob, as i was parking my car in my garage the oil pressure guage dropped to zero at once and i still scared from that smell and that odd grip thought there may be no oil, but i always check my oil guage before leaving my garage which at this time was at its Full mark.
I pressed throttle to the floor in nuetral and the pressure guage went to the figure 8 and came back to its normal position where it is always i-e at the digit 2 at warm idel... Ok guys im scared, tell me what it is?

my english sucks, bear with me.

Do you have a boost gauge ? I would think if you can break the tires loose in the dry and can't in the wet (don't care if there wet or dry tires) your definitely not making the stock boost level. Your oil pressure gauge reads in bar ? ours reads in pressure but would guess that your car would suffer from the same type connection failure at the sender or sender failure.

No, i dont have a boost guage.

The tire thing is still doubtful, since it always looses traction (it was doing it this morning when there was no rain but it isnt in wet for some reason at night) on dry roads if i paddle it to the floor at once from standing still. I sometimes try to swing it when i take a U turn on empty roads but tonight it went straight.

its a japanese import and the maunfacturing year is 1995, the Oil pressure guage has five marks. 0 - - 4 - 8 and kg/cm2 is printed on right side.

i didnt get the sender or sender failure connection thing????

"Went straight" may be more a sign of losing front grip than getting increased rear grip. The rear is always more likely to break loose while turning, and since the car went straight, that tendency (to break the rear loose) would be much less.

well that turning this was a bit of what has happened this night at whole.

The strong smell from rear end, the enormous grip (or primary busted) on wet road and the oil pressure drop to zero and then regained when it was eventually parked back in garage after a continous bursts of paddle to the floor for 10 miles.

^^Problem^^

The smell suggests water or something splashing off of hot exhaust parts. Do you still have the stock heat shields on your turbos? If your main cat is stock does it have its heat shields? Do you have the stock undertray installed under the front end? In any case, I would not worry too much if it only happens in rain.

The stock oil pressure sender is famous for not working well. The wiring is weak and the sender fails more often than it should. Fortunately, if your oil levels are normal it's very rare to have a real oil pressure problem. You can try cleaning the sender wire connection and/or replacing the sender if this is uncomfortable.

As for the grip question, I definitely see reduced traction in the rain, and I've always used very good rain tires. If one of your turbos is having trouble you're wasting your time trying to guess until you have a boost gauge to diagnose things. Just get one installed (even a temporary one).

my FD is bone stock as it came from Japan. Nothing is removed or added. i had a R33 before it and it ...............well it could be the splashing water on hot exhaust parts as you said.

Im a hardcore follow the rules guy whenever it comes to start the car cold in the morning, means YES i always keep (oil) it to the full. Now where is that sender wire located so i can clean it?

well i have only one set of tires that are installed already. the Dunlop 265/35 R18 which infact is nothing special, All weather Z tires.

why have i gained more grip on wet road, theres a little spin but the car is going straight no matter i splash through a little puddle or what?

i will definately get a boost guage tomorrow.

I don't see why "going straight" means anything in relation to how much grip you have. Either your wheels are spinning or they're not. And I really, really doubt you have more grip than on dry - there's probably something else explaining it - either your perception or something reducing your power.

The stock oil pressure gauge is not accurate.

If it falls to 0 and the your car is still running, that should automatically make you know something is wrong with the gauge/sender/wiring.
