I had my boost set to 15 but over time it rose to a final spike of 20psi Thats when I cracked a seal. SAcarry sound cracking a seal thought I was gonna die. Luckily it just cracked and didnt break off and go throught the turbos else I would have had to get new ones instead of just a new engine.

So what your saying is dont buy the apexi PFC and save my money unless I know somebody around here to tune the chip. Instead port the wastegate.
Honestly I dont know what a wideband is, but I sure like to know. I dont have any dyno tools but I know a few shops that do. So is there an aftermarket wastegate I can buy?? I learning here-- help me out please
with tunning or without PFC is best bet. without tunning the PFC is like other aftermarket ECU, pre-programmed for set mods. only differnce is PFC is maybe 850 if you don;t get commander. However, with commander, you can now tweak it out and adjust for new mods. Anybody who says getting M2 or pettit ECU is better either works for them, or has one.

Plus PFC is completely satnd alone, you can then sale stock ECU for 200$.Maybe those ECUs woudl be worth a look iof they were like 200$.

An FD that doesn't have anything wrong with it will run sufficiently rich even with some mods, as long as the boost is at 10psi or below. I own a wideband and have tested this on a few cars. Stock cars max out my wideband at 10:1, actual a/f is probably richer. There is PLENTY of room for mods and increased airflow.

WELL SAID WADE! I've always thought that there is a bit of paranoia on this board about HAVING to get an upgraded ECU for exhaust and intake changes, but never had the tuning data to back it up. As long as you are smart about it and watch your gauges (namely boost) and control the boost at a reasonable level (10 psi) via a 2 dollar needle valve, I believe you will be safe. Obviously you are going to get more power and better response with an ECU upgrade, but that also comes at a considerable cost that you don't necessarily need to do at the same time you are plunking down several hundred for intake/exhaust upgrades. My upgrades are very piecemeal, and it would take me a very long time to save up for a $2500+ ECU/exhaust/intake combo vs. buying one component at a time to achieve the right balance of cost/performance I want.

Boost Creep...

I added a Racing Beat intake, K&N filter, EFINI Turbo Intake, RP 3" stainless stell downpipe, freeflow CAT and Greddy CATback and got boost creep up to 15psi. Added a Greddy Profec B and Greddy fuel cutoff defeater, and dialed it down to 10/10.5 psi. The Profec B killed the boost creep and has been rock solid for the last year and a half.

Still need to upgrade fuel pump and reprogram ECU so I can install a bigger stock mount IC and a more open intake setup. Car makes so much power now even at 10.5psi that it will break loose the rear with 17X9/Yokahama 520 275/40's at 60mph on a cold day. Just want to add a few more mods for realiability and to let me dial up boost to 13.5 psi for those occasional jaunts around the Track.
