I was just throwing ideas around and I know this has been done. Since rotaries are really touchy and can break easily.. what do you guys think about putting a mk4 supra motor in it. I have the engine lined up and there's a place in town that has done this before. Whats your guys suggestions?

Do it.

The shop i go to has a 2JZ in an FD currently.

There is nothing like having the relaibility/potential of THAT toyota engine plus the looks of the FD.

Do it man, i know i would in a heartbeat.

Wow nice 1000 rpm powerband. Yes that is sarcasm. Awesome power but seemed totally unusable.

If I was gonna swap anything, it would be an LS1. Easier to do, probably cheaper, and the Ls1 is capable of plenty of power too.

Fantastic idea.

A guy here with the help of a local speed shop is building a 2jz-FD right now. If you are ever up this way, you should check it out.

A 2JZ has to be just about the poorest choice for an engine swap....an LS-1 or 20B will have much better powerbands and will result in much better weight distribution. Not to mention the steering f*#kery that will have to occur to jam the way tall 2JZ in.

There's many threads about this in the Other Engine forum.....thread closed.
