11 seconds 1/4 mile with stock twins???
Hey fellow FD racers!
What specific mods must I get for my FD to run high 11s or maybe low 12s 1/4 mile with still remaining the stock twins.
porting?
seq/non-seq?
boost?
Just wondering because a friend of mine has a supra and he's gonna chuck in a T51R. He's expecting high 11s 1/4 mile. I want to show him what our FDs are truly made of! Don't rekon I'll beat him but he'll freak out if I keep up with him ay guys!
Thanks ppl!

Well, with 1/4 mile times, 90% of it is the driver. However, RTS3GEN here on the forum has a 1/4 time of 11.77:

Check in that thread. Basically, he has:
Streetport
Pettit Unlimited ECU
Apexi FMIC
DP, MP, Apexi Duals
Open Air K&N Filter intake
Kaaz Diff
etc...

Mahjik is right.
Driver, tires, suspension, then power.
I went to the races a couple months ago with crappy tires and stock suspension putting at least 40 or 50 rwhp over my friend, but with his nice coilovers and stickier street tires, beat me by .3 seconds. His 12.1 to my 12.4.

NOT Impossible at all !!!!!
Ran as fast as 11.56 @ 122mph on Nittos on stock NS twins and stock 50k mile motor
With ported motor have run 11.34 @ 125mph with a crazy 1.7 60ft on Nittos as well...
With 15-16psi and some good driving on drag radials high 11's is very possible.
My mods:
Power FC
ported motor
Greddy 3 row FM, PE cat back, airfilter, DP
Walbro HP-255 fuel pump
2x 850cc, 2x 1200cc (bored out 850cc)
Crane HI-6 w/ TurboII leading coil

get all the bolt-on's and some E/T streets. Then launch the **** out of it. I ran a 12.3 and didn't even have a good launch. I have stock motor, turbos, and susp. It just takes practice and some good tuning. Good luck

Yes, my 12.1 was on stock seq turbos. I think you need somewhere around 375rwhp to get an 11. Cavell is running the BNR 3s non seq. He did have some major wheel hop and a bad launch plus it was like 95 degrees out.
I have a ported motor, full exhaust, intake, pulleys, Greddy smic, 1300 sec injectors, PFC, 15psi, and tipped the scales at 3010 that day with me in it.

Think my 60 ft was something horrid like 2.3 or 2.4. Still managed a 117 trap though. This was around 16 psi.
I've since changed to the BNR 2's because mine were leaking oil pretty bad and I didn't like the smoking issue at all.

The stage three set has different seals that have less drag so spool up is faster than the stage two set . The wheels are the same for both sets .This is the reason some stage threes smoked . The ones that did not smoke are very fast .

This is what 362 rwhp got Brooks...

When my car intake, full exhaust, base map PFC, running 12psi of boost I ran 12.3@113. Everything else on the car was BONE stock.
Oh yea, I was running Nitto Drag radials (which I drive on daily) and cut a 1.89 60 foot on that run.
Basically a good driver with Nitto's can get low 12's for about $2K worth of mods

Only problem is, if your buddy with the Supra slaps a T51R on his car, he will smoke your ***, hands down. On pump gas the Supra with that turbo will make every bit of 600rwhp. On race gas and 30psi it will make low to mid 700rwhp. If he adds cams, your looking at 60rwhp more. Only way you have a shot, is by going single turbo also.

11's is a nice goal, unfortunatly its alot easier with a single. I perfer the seq. cuz I like to race light to light and need the fast spool up. When it comes to raceing on the hwy they still pull plenty good and most of my races dont go over 130.
