Yep, I just cut away the plastic to expose the "bar", and then drilled a hole through it and mounted the battery terminal to it with a 10mm bolt and nut.

Awesome. Same thing I did. At least now I know it works! :)

Not so fast... I eliminated my front relay box completely in '98 and only have one relay left... TNS (tail number side). :)

Well, I didn't really see the need to completely remove it as I might want to (Doubt it) put the car back together someday... :)

Good job though!! :D :D

In my case, it was sort of pointless to keep it for only one relay, and considering the other stuff I removed from my front harness... :)

It's amazing what you can strip out after eliminating a few things like the air bags, air conditioning, pop-up lights... rotary engine... :)

I'll have to check and see if I still have them. I tossed out a bunch of stuff recently, and I'm not sure I kept the ECU connectors.

I've had the bumper off several times, so everything was easy to access. In fact, there isn't a panel on the car that hasn't been removed at least once. I think the only part that's never been touched is the gas tank. :)

What does the TNS actually do? "Tail Number Side" doesnt exactly explain much! Is it the tail lights?

I'm going to make a rack from billet aluminum and mount 3 or 4 Bosch relays on it and call it good. I was down to "TNS", but realized that I need one for my horns, if I install some, and will need one for my electric water pump.

I expect before all is said and done that I'll be back up to 4 or more, but they'll be out of the way, and if one blows, you can replace it with a $4 part instead of a $20+ Mazda relay. :)
