whatever happened to Adam Saruwatari car?

He "retired" it. I'm sure that he still has it. Honda is throwing money at him now. He's got ... what, an NSX, a tube NSX, and a new Civic Si HB to drag now? I really don't keep up with the **** that goes on ... especially drag strips.

Yeah DK, you got it right... the FD is just there for looks now, he wasnt fast enuugh to compete well anyways. No offense or anything, but it didnt cut it. He's racing his Tube NSX with WHOLE CF body. Last season was its debut, he was runnin 8's when he ran his first events... i lost track since that... but he has a Civic si HB now, you can catch glimpes of it at car shows, big shows. Sigh.... what a traitor.... hehe

believe it or not, but he CRASHED the NSX on a maxspeed test. thats why you had all this hype about it... and then zip... you dont hear about it anymore!! i think this happened a while ago. maybe half a year or so...

Denguyen: you live near him huh? My girls family lives up there also....the big farms that are near him....yep that's there's. There related somewhere down the line.
His NSX just got sponsored by Jackson Racing near the end of the season and it didn't get crashed. Maybe a wreck or something but it's still whole and it ran a best of 7.75 or close. He's got his own personal drag strip on his farm from what we hear. He's gonna be sporting the full pro drag Civic this season...but he should still have the NSX out there mixing it up.
How can you say that his Rx7 couldn't cut it? It held all the records for the longest time.....it's just lately that people have been able to skate by the rules and run faster. You can't tell me that Ari's car is in the same exact trim as Adam's was a few years ago and still as fast. Don't think so! I bet alot of us would be really suprised at what certain people have done to their car that noone knows about or don't fall within the rules

He had a Gforce tranny in it which made it not legal for most of the classes at the time. Well, the rules have since been revised to allow "certain" trans. variations. His tranny was his only "driveline" mod that wasn't per class rules. If I remember correctly......he ran a 8.8 right?? Ari just ran a 9.1 with the same "driveline" mods. His tranny uses dogcut gears which is the same as a Gforce just keeps the H-pattern I'm pretty sure. His was on slicks as well....so I don't get the quote that says that Adam's 7 couldn't cut it???? 8's aren't that bad in a stock bodied car with ALL it's original glass and interior!!!!!!

I think people need to give respect to Adam for one thing above all else. He is one of the pioneers of the import racing world!!! He has been around since the beginning and has really taught the sport alot on professionalism and what it means to have a clean image and nice personality. I really think at the very least he deserves some credit for that. He single handedly brought big sponsorship to the import ranks....I've been around from day 1.....do your research and find out.

I love that Enkei wheel ad with his RX-7 and a NSX in the background at the track.. But has he won any events in the NSX yet?? The articles I have read a while ago always say that he has been knocked out in like the first or second rounds of competition.

I remember back in the day he was going through engines like candy. Back in the 90's there was just bandaids and well wishes for keeping an engine together, there was no decent ECU's and what was out there was very poorly documented. He was probably running the PFS purple computer.

there was something about one of his sponsors being an ECU company, but he was using something else. and that something else was like an abacus, it was something people would say is impossible for the e.t.'s he was running.

Back in the day people made crazy fast cars with rising rate fuel pressure regulators, additional injector controllers, etc. Not to mention disabling trailing spark or going to a spinning distributor so you had timing control.

Yup. We had Honda's that ran almost triple digit fuel pressure. Lol
