Wow! An early and rare RZ.
Are those original Recaros?
If so, it must be one of the earliest appearances of Recaros in an FD.
The front license plate holder is unique. I have been thinking of something like that to reduce the look of the factory bump.
Where could I get one of those?
Thanks for posting.

The front license plate is 99 spec.. are you referring to the plate or the duct?

Wood **** is about 200 grams lighter than OEM. This is offset by my getting new shifter bushings installed (the little teflon puck at the bottom especially). Also I got some zinc collars from the marine hardware store to add to the gearshift shaft to get the weight back to stock. Miata wood handle came from a wrecker and was in bad shape. I had it woodworked back to form, but the installer split it in two, forcing it onto the brake handle. Repair is invisible thankfully.
The miata wood handle handbrakes have a very similar part number to FD. I bought two nice examples off ebay ($$$), but it turns out the mounting frame is designed for the left side of the tunnel.
The wood Miata wheels are fairly common and only require drilling positioning divits on the hub to match the FD position points.
After the wood ,the leather shifter and wheel feel "fuzzy" to the touch.
It is very easy to switch back to stock when the time comes.

CF Lip
Got my Re-A Replica lip out of storage. Slightly exaggerated version of 99 lip. Picked up the butterfly tattoo from an RHD 2000 S15 Sylvia left rear tire. He inexplicably turned directly in front of me on an off ramp.
I figure the cars may have known each other in Japan, and the S15 was out for revenge.
Picture is grainy as it it actually taken at late dusk at YVR South.

Detail is stunning. Very nice job. Lets see some snaps from those big Florida meets!
Let me know if you want to go with an s7 or S8 upper air guide box.
You are on your own to find the battery cover.
Watch out for those return air pipes on the HKS.
Any debris could get sucked back into the turbos. (see FEED Afflux above).

I plan to relocate the battery to the trunk, but im waiting because i want to explore options of a battery holder. I would like one custom made out of aluminum so i don't have to drill new holes, but i would also like a bracket that sits above the battery for the circuit breaker to be mounted on for a clean look. I got the idea from a picture of someone else's car but i haven't been able to find the picture since coming across it on accident

Looking good!
Apart from the worry of getting debris sucked in (as someone else has posted), you should really complete the front bumper and get the brake ducts for the 99. I guess its 1 of those things people overlook whenever they get the 99 spec spoiler.

I may be missleading you, but do you have bypass hoses running into the air intake after the filters? Normally the bypass lines run back to the stock air box. From there ( i believe ) the excess air is vented out the silencer tube. Or the air enters the stock box ahead of the filter.. Also the HKS can suck in any leaks from the coolant filler neck above them. This happened to one of our members recently.
The debris suck in from the bypass hoses cost the member his new turbos.

The hoses route the same way as the stock air box as far as how they connect back post filter. The relief hose is deleted but that hose is so small to begin with wouldn’t any debris just get sucked back in with the stock air box too? How would any debris even come into play since all of it has to pass through the filters to begin with?

I think there is some confusion here. I damaged my brand new turbos when the OEM charge relief valve disintegrated. That was the source of debris inside the closed circuit behind the air filters.
The damage would have occurred even with a stock air box. The HKS filters had nothing to do with it.
however these types of filters have been known to damage turbos either by their filter foam disintegrating or the plastic cage behind them becoming brittle and breaking then getting sucked into the turbos.
long story short Replace the foam at regular intervals and inspect the assembly and the HKS filters are great.
If your stock BOV & CRV are original; I suggest replacing them. Or completely eliminating them with an aftermarket BOV

Wow that’s very unfortunate that happened, I haven’t expected this as a point of failure but I’ll look into replacement parts knowing your case. Thank you for clarifying
