Your friend Nakai-san visits our area from time to time working on cars at some of our local shops. My friend has his Porsche lined up for a kit. Not sure when that is going to happen, though.

The wife knocked the dust off the S14 today and we went to our first meet with both cars this morning. It was mainly an American classic type meet but we did spot a RHD MR2 and a new Z.

Blossoms were supposed to be out for the first pop up meet at Point Gary this year. But it got very cold the last few nights. Five FD turned out. Otherwise the entire parking lot's three large bays were full of enthusiasts of many makes eager to get their cars out. The car scene is very much alive! What is more practical than an Volvo wagon.........

Nissan generations represented!

Four Mark iV paid a visit and about six Mark V were spread around.

Across the delta from Point Gary another arm of the Fraser reaches the sea at Iona Beach Park. It has become a popular sunset viewing place, but tonight five planets are expected to, more or less, align!

The deep blue of Georgia Straight and the mountains of Vancouver Island make a nice backdrop for a sunset pic of the FD.

On the second Saturday of each month across spring and summer, Weissach Porsche club hosts a cars and coffee at Spanish Banks in Vancouver. On very nice weather days we may get 1,000 cars out (not just Porsches.) Today was not a nice weather day, in fact there was new snow on the mountains. Nevertheless we managed a fine selection of cars.

Stopped by UBC's Nitobe Gardens on the way to Spanish Banks.

First Weissach cars and coffee of 2023, Spanish Banks, Vancouver. Got to get there early to park with the Porsches.

Former Sanyo Osaka Expo 1970 pavillion, generously donated to UBC circa 1978. This is where I studied Japanese. Sakura finally forced themselves into bloom despite the cool weather.

Canadian Helicopters ,once a major helicopter firm in the North Sea and other offshore oil and gas production regions, briefly moved their headquarters from Newfoundland to BC about 20 years ago, then faded away locally. A visit to YVR South Terminal on Sea Island today found a collection of helicopter hulls parked out in the weather. Kicked out by the landlord? On their way to the crusher?

The FD's slick design is mirrored in the helijet's form; Both designed to cut through the air in the most efficient way.

First VCMC AutoX of the year at Mission Raceway, today. Forecast was for "drizzle", but not a drop of rain fell. Track conditions were excellent.

We will be having a combined event at Mission with VCMC for our Sevens Day this year. July 16th. It is going to be great!

Waited out the rain, but it did not come.

It pays to participate!

Second Weissach Cars & Coffee of the year today at Spanish Banks. Very fine weather brought out lots of cars.

We had a pre-meet at YVR and four black FD showed up! Had a nice four car cruise along Marine Drive to Spanish Banks managing to keep the group together.

We got there in time to secure prime parking facing off against a long line of Porsches.

7:15 Pre-meet at YVR MacD's.

Prime spot with a view of English Bay.

Cars stretching to the horizon. Vancouver downtown in the distance.

Heard about a good monthly meet that was fairly close to me so the wife and I took the cars out to check it out. Was better than expected. Lots of RHD cars and a good variety of others. Plenty of exotics, new supras and the typical cars. We got their kind of late so it was hard to find parking so next month we will have to make it out earlier.

I'm on the fence about that. I think one like that would be nice but I also want something like the plain RX7 lile on the 99 spec or even the plain Efini one. Thats the only reason why i dont have one yet.

mine is “registered” to Hiroshima, and my numbers are 1994. I think it’sa great way to do the front if you’re keeping the plate holder

Any suggestions on the better places to buy them? I see so many different companies offering them, I want something decent quality. Only reason why I'm keeping the plate holder is because I don't want 2 random holes in my bumper and I'm sure the paint is rubbed pretty bad underneath.

I have just been accumulating from Ebay and Buyee and trading with friends. I have not bought directly from a actual maker.

The guys in Thailand seemed to have a bunch of actual plates from scrap cars which were cool for originality.

I have not seen any for a while.
