They create a low pressure area behind them to aid the extraction vents. The leading edge and inside edge where airflow splits to go over the windshield or down off the back of the front fenders will have high velocity air and so are the best spots. |

Thanks for you kind comments, as the guys above have said the carbon fibre trim on the bonnet deflects the air allowing more air through the egine bay and out the bonnet vents.

Feed Me: is that an authentic AD9 hood? I'm having a similar issue with mine lining up with the front bumper. (a smaller gap in the middle than towards the ends)
why are there so many FDs with terrible hood to bumper gap? how hard is it to match two curves? |
