This thread really got a life of it's own.

Last Saturday was an extraordinarily pretty day, so after an oil and filter change, time to take the CYM out to run some errands.





Sad to say, but there are probably no more CYMs under 10,000 miles.
But on a day like Saturday, it was worth it to be the last one.

Beautiful day yesterday too, so I drove it to work. I'm up to 10,072 as of right now.

 

Another beautiful day. Make the 10087 miles.

who's CYM is this? my friend snapped a photo of it at the Italian Concourso in Monterrey,CA this past week. awesome!

 

After a ton of work on my CYM for the past 4 months (leaking oil pan, exhaust leak, fuel, clutch, brakes, boost control, etc) then blowing the tired stock engine on the dyno, she's back with a new engine from JPR (small street port, RA black super seals). Took her out today to break in the new engine and snapped these pics; planning on getting it tuned in the next two weeks and I'll finally be done .

 

I'm not a prolific poster yet anyway, but I somehow missed this thread for quite a while. Original owner of a CYM, purchased new in April 1993, now with 96,xxx miles. Although I hope to begin some conservative changes when I get back to the US next year, a cat back and Eibach springs are the only current mods. Nice to see all the yellow cars on here, and it's motivational to get back and working on mine.

 

The memories of my test drive when the cars were introduced in '92. I so wanted the CYM but events delayed my purchase 'till they were no more.

 

You can update my mileage to 55,xxx!

Won't be going anywhere for awhile now as I rebuild her.

I want one. A low mileage one.

 

I've always wanted one of these and I turned one down that had 17K miles in 05 for a 95 vr which I still own.

Thought I'd look on craigslist for the hell of it and found one in Alabama with under 3K miles. I about **** myself. Called the guy and was so dissapointed. The original owner scraped the side and had the whole car repainted. The pics looks great but the hood was offline. He is asking 21K and I was ready to jump on it. Too bad too. With just over 2k on the odometer, it would have been a sweet deal. Maybe someone here might want it. dammit man

 

There were a lot more issues than just the side of that car being scraped....

So, who wants to sell their CYM? I'll make it worth your while

I missed Shetlen...has a CYM time attack build thread going but has not been updated since 2012.

 

I don't want to pee in any body's kiddy pool, but I have never understood the 'garage queen' syndrome. To me a car has no value except to be driven. My Red R-1 has 212,000 on the chassis the last time I looked. My earlier, Montego Blue Touring had 138,000 on the OD when it expired from a drunkin bimbo wreck. Maybe I have no reluctance at driving it because I know every nut, bolt and screw on it. I'm on my third engine, the last two of which I installed myself. Having become handy building the engines in my 2nd Gen race car, I will be building the next engine in the 3rd Gen myself. Just an observation, no flamming words intended.

 

I understand your point and recognize there are at least two camps on the issue of "store" or "drive." The thread was started by the OP as an inquiry to where he stood relative to other CYM owners.

Today I really consider this thread as the CYM Owner's Club thread. No one voted me "keeper," but no one has complained about me doing the updates either.

Come on owner's, time to take some more shots of those CYM's and post as eye candy before the weather turns cold and the car gets put away.

AnthonyNYC is also a CYM owner, need to add him to the list
