26k-Mile 1994 Mazda RX-7 Touring 5-Speed for sale on BaT Auctions - ending October 2 (Lot #86,194) | Bring a Trailer
Checks a lot of boxes, white, 94, low miles, very clean interior, but the el cheapo wheels, bodyside moulding, paint runs and light corrision underneath will detract a little from the final value....Thoughts?

Suspect that list will devalue it substantially.

That body side molding is beyond hideous - and its removal may require the repainting of six panels.

Just wanted to say, the stock wheels are included. See pic 121-129. So that's something.

But yeah that body door ding protector is beyond hideous.

For some reason people are being super critical, like that one guy that said it was fishy that the rear wiper was in the wrong position. Like wow big effin deal...

+1 (or -1 depending on point of view) for that side trim. Where would you even get that?!?!?

However - in the car's favor it does have the glass sunroof -and the battery cover

That cars beauty from the side view almost overcomes the door ding thing.

That white paint seems to get dull and stained over time.

Is there a way to bring it back and still keep the car original?

Probably should have a paint thickness test, due to the uncertainty with the discovered "drips".

And again no compression test.

The "no local tester thing" does not fly for me.

Fly one up from Texas.

They look like the one on my mid 90s MX-6, and they came that way stock in 96. Maybe the OO got some off of a mid 90 Mazda and have it install, unfortunately they don’t flow well with the FD body line.

The previous owner clearly wanted a Porsche 928 S4. The paint is chipped around the door already. It's a white 94 with 26k miles -- there will be a bidding war for it in the final 2 minutes.

The car gives me '90s flashbacks - and not in a good way. All that is missing is a large front bra and plastic seat covers.

That said, it's white and has 26k miles (and the trim can be removed) so it should reach a decent price.

Yea maybe I was a tad critical at first, but no denying the paint runs should be a major concern to any potential buyer expecting original paint. Otherwise, should make a great car for someone looking for a low mile white 94 that's driver quality+. Agreed, on the keyboard warrior calling out the wiper blade that just needed to be installed properly. What a dummy.

I almost forgot how they look with the 4x4 mode

My 94 has no side trim.

But my 96 has it.

All these MX-6 pictures are bringing me back to down memory lane. A couple guys in high school and them with a bunch of tacked on JC Whitney stuff.

RNM on the 26k mile CW FD on BaT. Thought it would at least go into the high 50's for the CW tax and it seems to be in overall nice condition with low miles.

The undisclosed repaint and body trim moldings won out I guess.

The past month of BaT sales have been well below the peak during the summer. It seems the market has cooled off in conjunction with the economy as a whole. We need another sub-20k miles/no accidents car to come up to see where the market is at. In August two of those sold in the high 80s.

No doubt.. folks seemed to become skeptical of the condition of the car which seemed fair for the most part. Still a little surprised it didn't get hit 50k given how rare a chaste white pops up.

This is like the 4th separate time in the last year someone says the market is cooling just because of a couple low sales on bring a trailer. A nice one will come along in a few weeks at a higher price.

BAT is not the only indicator of pricing and a couple sales is not indicative of the overall market. It is not surprising the white one didn't price well on BAT.

It's an auction site, all it takes is for 2 buyers with money to want something bad enough at the same time. This alone causes swings of tens of thousands of dollars in a given auction.

That car was rode hard and put up wet. They should have dropped their reserve.

Take note of the Vin Number and watch for it to come back next April with a Vintage Red (engine out) repaint, compression test , minty stock wheels, 100 more miles on the odo, and no door guards. Should go for $90k then.

That's what it would take, I think. Nut and bolt and a high dollar repaint. Except, I'd do it in the original color.

Another decent CW just hit. The selling dealer doesn't seem to have put much time prepping for the sale though. Would have been super easy to unbolt and re-attach the lip in the front. This one owner looks like it would clean up well

Agreed. Though I noticed in the underside pictures that the front cross member is banged up a bit, and the plastic engine under tray is chewed up pretty good - looks like it hit some speed bumps or similar road debris a bit too hard a few times. But the battery cover is still there

It looks like he hit a rock or road kill, the subframe probably saved the oil pan if that pan wasn't replaced at some point. I hit a frozen dead raccoon once in my daily, that put the same dent on my Xmember, oil pan and scar the underbody near the exhaust toward the back

My oil pan was dented up and pressing against the oil uptake. Did not "discover" the problem until engine was taken apart due to a blown corner seal.

I had had braided oil cooler lines installed and they were buzzing like bees, so I had the rigid OEM lines installed instead, without diagnosing the oil uptake problem.

My friend just sold his 12k mile, no accidents, JDM FD on BAT. The closing price was $42k.

Engine bay etc.... cost that car tons of $$$. It will be interesting to see what a low mileage clean JDM car would bring. I suspect if it's a late model we could see 100k broken again.

That said this world economy is a mess and it's likely going to even affect how the wealthy spend so no doubt collectables will also be hurt.
