Going to drive mine anyway!

I think they fairly loved the car, but were surprised at how much uncaptured value they had chanced on.

They wanted to modify it up, and we screamed bloodly murder.

Watch for it to come back at a more appropriate price.

Say US$90,000. Haha.

A really nice driver - with the wrong color door panels?

It is my favorite color combo, though!

Car was withdrawn by BaT. Looks like a lack of honesty by the seller as the car was in a pretty serious wreck. There are some photos attached in one of the comments.

wonder if the seller knew about the wreck

Carfax indicated the 3rd and current ownership began in July 2022

also explains why the lip on the rocker panel was painted body color (93 should be black), but also why the textured rock guard stuff was there and the fenders had the little tape pieces on them still

BC

Seems, therefore to be close to market.

Maybe this will establish what the current "Canadian Discount" is.

Canadian discounts, which I assume are due to documentation concerns, may have been excessive.

The excessive discount would amount to an arbitrage opportunity for persons who understand how to import cars from Canada.

The ad says 23,000 km but the odometer photo shows 23,000 miles. Also there are so many cars missing battery covers it makes me wonder if they were removed at the ports or dealerships before the cars were delivered.

Good eye. We need to ask Michael Gagne what is going on. Maybe the odometer can be switched between KM and miles; or only the interval is in miles; or the odo has been switched?

I think it's just the fact that the cars are now driven so rarely that almost all of them would spend most of their lives on battery tenders and the cover gets in the way.

This is an absolutely 'not sure' on my part, but is it possible the car was originally purchased in USA? I would think a Canada car would have the km/h speedometer.

Yep. The VIN would be a clue (sometimes). But it does seem to be a USDM speedometre. Canada would have the KM in the outer ring.

It is not unusual for US cars to be in Canada. Some were converted to Canada spec in period.

Others would simply be imported as used cars to Canada under the 15 year rule from time to time.

Battery covers are just one of those things that get removed when someone replaces the battery, then it goes in the corner of the garage and never seen again. These cars at one point were just used cars too.

The odometer could be that it was originally a US car that was brought into Canada. The cluster can be converted from MPH to KPH (or vice versa) but it's a fair amount of work. Most likely it was just a US car. The seller should have checked that, their site is probably set up for Canadian cars and they just didn't check.

As mileage approaches absolute zero do not Kilometre and miles converge?

Or is that centrigrade and farenheit?

Miles and Kilometers scale linearly to each other. It depends on your definition of "converge", but it is a scalar correction between the two, whereas degree F and C have a scalar and value offset.

Crazy market. Even with a moderate accident history and many owners and a $10,000 incremental bid!!!!!

This one just sold at $39K. Strong price given the mileage and condition. Biggest issue appears to be a bad respray that, if it were my car, would need to be redone. Why you'd paint it blue and not do it in the original Montego is a head-scratcher to me.

Maybe they were one of those oddballs that hates the MB Color and wanted blue still? That went for a decent price given the history and condition though.

This is why I'm set on going JDM now along with more parts availability, ill pay much less for more car. Im not a fan of RHD but i also dont want to spend $70k for a clean white FD. Im not looking for a collector car and want one to enjoy and drive near stock. A near stock USDM will be $$$ compared to a JDM one. I'm glad to see these things finally holding value. Still hurts me to think about how much I sold my R1 for......
