Had a chance to install some FEED replica skirts today (Thanks Ken from Shine Auto!). Great fitment and install. So I decided to take a quick drive after the install and was greeted with a friendly EVO driver. Oh, picked up a free mocha drink from DD, too. Great day I suppose...

Next up, '99 bumper and wheels in the next couple of weeks.

fdzero, that's the first stock body FD that i've seen in awhile that I really like. I'm not a fan of ungodly body kits that ruin the fd lines, but kits do enhance their appeal.
anyway, 99spec front end will make it that much better. +1

^ Thanks MotoTek. Yes, I'm a fan of stock FD body lines too. The '99 bumper + FEED skirts are all the exterior items I'm doing....well, maybe the Shine Auto taillight spoiler down the road.

By popular demand.... WHEELS!

Stopped by to visit scrubby and cabaynes today. We threw on a set of scrubs extra wheels to test out some sizing and see how my car would look with some real wheels

Im not the biggest fan of these wheels, however it is a HUGE improvement over stock

hahaha I wanted to, but they were buried way too deep into he garage

I think they would have looked GREAT on my car... if only they were not one of the most common wheels these days I would consider buying them from him.

Actually you aren't going to have to do much to the rear. I have 1 degree camber all around in those pics.

Based on 1 degree of camber:

rear - a little trimming of the inside of the fender lip, or a minor roll
front - minor fender roll, but that's not that hard (The Burnout front fenders about 30 mm wider, but the curvature is different from stock, so it's not just a simple comparison.)

You can check this out too: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=900518

I would ignore anyone who says "Just do 5 degrees of camber all around" or "Put 195's on your fronts - hate me!!"

Tires:

Neovas - for many reasons. They grip well, and for performance tires, they're not loud. They utilize a soft compound and don't have solid steel sidewall, although certain sizes do have small steel inserts. For a lightweight FD, tire wear is good unless you perform burnouts daily. They break away smoothly and regain traction smoothly, for example, when drifting, or just straight line acceleration - although the driver has a lot to do with the smoothness as well (ahem.).

I'm wearing out my AD07's/RP03's before the my AD08's/RPF1's go on. For the rear, 285/30-18's will give you a flat sidewall with the same circumference as the stock tires. I have the stock wheels and tires too, so I know they have exactly the same circumference. The front depends on your fenders, and a 245/35-18 will give you the same stock circumference, again with a flat sidewall. You just consider any adjustments to these sizes to see what fits without rubbing. Neovas I've owned on 18's: 235/40, 255/35, 265/35, 285/30, so I hope this helps you choose the right tires the FIRST time.

For what it's worth:

265/35-18 AD08 = 27.0 lbs
285/30-18 AD08 = 26.6 lbs

Yeah, I weighed those too.

Click my avatar for a 3/4 view of your wheels with 265/35 and 235/40 AD07s. Here's another:

We need to exchange info for the next time you're going on a photo shoot. I need the practice. Hopefully we see each other at Gordan's place this august (or sooner).

how do you like the fitment on your platless 99 spec front bumper (that's what it looks to be )? where did you get it from?

Have you considered painting the R1 lip also the same color as your car? In my opinion it gives it a nice finish.
