Regarding what Neo said..
As some of you have seen on my build thread, I've played around with different look, tires, etc.. But one thing I've always followed is the guide line the tire manufacturers suggest regarding what range width wheels for certain size tires.
For instance.. My recent WORK XD9s. They are 18x10s on all four corners.. My experience on previous set up, 255/35 worked great with min. rub against the fender liner up front. I also wanted to run decent street tires. So, I checked on PS2 and the range and recommend width of the wheel. Michelin states range of 8.5 to 10" and 9" wide wheel is recommended for 255/35/18s. For my rear, I went with 295/30/18s and they recommend wheel width of 10" and 11" and 10.5" recommended.
Bottom line, I wouldn't stretch/balloon the tire so much its beyond recommended range from the tire company.

I understand were your coming from... extremes of these styles seems to be what every one uses as examples.
In my cars defense..
The Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec fits my 10" front (once I change to the 255 )and 11" rear at the max of there recommended rim width. No matter the stretch or balloon, the tire will always sit center on the rim. Stock are 50mm, my fronts are 44mm, that's 6mm wider track per side(<1/4"). Stock tire size is 225, mine will be 255. These seem like safe improvements. The width of the rim should not affect safety, unless it makes contact something.
I really wanted to change the look and this is what I choose for now. I have owned this girl since 96 and shes needed some modifications to keep me happy through out the years.

What's the title of this thread again? I keep forgetting.
The thread should have started out with a "no pics, no post" rule.
Commenting's fine, but it's not as though we don't all have at least a dozen different pics of our cars and couldn't take the 10s to share one while commenting here.
Sharing is caring, ya dig.
mannykiller, that's an awesome pic. For me, that revives memories of good times while envisioning more to come. Thanks for the awesome contribution to this *pic* thread.

The tires are the main reason the wheels look smaller. At the time the car had 265/35's and 235/40's, which have a larger circumference than stock, making the wheels look smaller. Bigger body pieces also make the wheels look smaller. Plus these are cell phone pics. Those wheels are 18's.
Hilarious, I send out payment for RP0-3's yesterday morning so I could have something not many others have on an rx7 (as opposed to the RPF-1s I currently have) and now a BB (like mine) shows up with them in here.
What sizing do you have? I had to go with some uncommon offsets so I could get the SBC coating.

My RP03's are 18 x 10 ET 22 and 18 x 9 ET 18 in silver; his are the same size in SBC.
My first FD was MB, and this one used to be SS, and I have RPF1's also.
And in keeping with the title of the thread, here's my car, at least a part of it.

^My RPF1s are powdercoated black, but I think I'm about to get something different. And I haven't seen anyone here talking about the new ones so I might be the only one...but probably not lol.
And for the record, the reason I don't post more pics of my car is because I've already posted all the pics I have and I can't take any current pics right now lol.

Had a (pretty amateur) photo shoot with about 10 other cars...... I'm rocking my 'common' track wheels because I had little notice for the shoot and couldn't slap the Fikses back on. A few teasers

I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to pull my rear fenders quite a bit, How much wider are your front fenders vs stock?

Talktometal, those pics look great! Definitely a big difference between a photog with some nice equipment who knows his art vs some schlub with a digi-cam . I love the mirrors, I would consider them if I wouldnt have to deal with the holes in the doors.
A few more shots..... I took all of these on my puny Canon Powershot. They're un-retouched--- speaking of which, can someone edit out the truck in the last shot ?

****, if mine had come with THOSE two turbos I probably wouldn't have gone single haha. Actually I still kinda regret it sometimes anyway. I love the response of the twins. Oh well.
Ah, so that was YOUR car I saw on the AutoRND facebook page. Forgeline F14Fs right? Good looking wheels. The whole setup looks good!
Agreed. I guess we all should have left our plastic ASTs in there, along with the stock radiator that is undersized and with plastic endtanks, along with whatever other things the Mazda engineers slacked on...just because that's how the engineers designed it. Oh well. I'll give it to them, I absolutely love the car overall and almost every engineering aspect of it, but what genius engineer decided it would be OK for hot coolant to go into a plastic tank?
And my setup is pushed out quite a bit more than yours, but not near as much as 20B haha. I'm sure glad I don't try to please anyone else with what I do. I love my car, and that's what's important to me.
