Also good to see a real functional scoot hood with the air dam leading to the brakes. I did the head lights as well. I've seen those on ads but never installed on an FD. Do you have any pics from the front?
Nice ride

NItefd- thank you sir. yes its a gp-5. i never really use the visor because when i am riding pillion with a student they cannot hear me when i need to shout, but i learnt my lesson on sunday. the car ahead of us spun out and outta nowhere a sizable pebbel smacks right onto my eye.lucky it was only a nasty bruise.
Trispeedfd3s- thanks mate. long term ownership does that to you.
Montego - here are a couple of pics whilst building. the temperatures are very stable. On the track water temps stay below 95c and oil temps stay below 105c spririted driving and loads of boosting.Pics below are slightly older and some changes have been made.
burtonCr- its a copy of the mazdaspeed unit. got it fabricated in indonesia thru a fellow fd owner based there. top notch work and no probs fitting. i had them make it out of the original as a mould. little to low, scrapping almost all speed bumps. the new unit will be the autoexe carbon complete with wing insert and rear carbon trim. lets wait and see. i still have the original mazdaspeed unit in carbon if anyone is interested. shipping will be expensive though.

the 13bRE uim is 30% larger. You have to portmatch fd housings to mate. the 13bRe throttle body was a real pia as the accelerator cable is on the back which called for for custom work. so yeah its a full fd engine but port matched to a 13bRE manifold.

If you look at the picture in my post you'll see that it's actually a FD throttle body-just made an adaptor to connect it, so the best of bost worlds! Oh and the bronze FD above is a regular FD engine with the 13bre intake, if you look at the crankshaft cover it's the newer style with the CAS on the side unlike the 13bre engine has the older style 2gen covers.

how much work is involved in port matching? i have a 13b-re available to me and if they flow that much better i'd like to use it in my build. did u have to use the RE LIM as well?

yup you need the LIM as well. we did this ourselves so i'd say 3-4 days of slow porting and loads of beer to keep your patience up. more than anything, you need patience.
