Where did you get the pipes from? I'm running the Apex'i power intake... which sits in the rad. fan shroud... ouch.... I'll be looking for a template as well and modding it for my application... I have a headlight cover inlet... I will be lining the plate w/ some sort of heatshielding material to deflect some of the heat... and may use a flex type tube for the ducting to the turbos... which would also be covered in a heat shielding material... Thanks for any help!!!

the intake pipes i purchased from a julio f. a while back, then had them polished, suposedly they are rx7-fashion pipes.

also, take a look at these pics, it was before i finished the sheilding, it may be what you are looking for because it makes a perfect sheild for teh apexi filter to sit over

Really nice work! I made my own heat shield & ducting from the nose for K&N's but yours looks professionally done with rivets and all...

You could actually sell your Cold Intake kits...just an Idea. I'd also like to down load your template.

I think you should totally sell the kit. I'd sell my m2 box if I can get a setup like yours. I'm sure a lot of people would agree with me on this one.

That looks exactly like the one in the Japanesse Rx7 Magazine... (2001) but the one in the Magazine is a one piece... And this template is specially made in conjunction wiv the Apexi intake...

The template is in my magazine but i dont have a scanner...

zero, Homedepot is where i got mine, they were by the rack full of metal rods, but kind of hidden in the side slot of the display

 

I got my sheet aluminum at Jerry's Hardware in Eugene (essentially an ACE hardware). Homedepot didn't have jack squat for sheet metal.

 

Ok guys, i need an estimate of how many want to buy the sheild before I decide to make a kit to sell. This is for teh sheild only (it is assumed you already have air filters, et).

Please specify if you would want the apexi version or the K&N version. ALSO, note that I made it with a stock intercooler in place, you may need to modify it for an aftermarket intercooler.

The estimated cost will not be greater than $60, not including shipping...and the apexi version will be cost a bit less (dosnt have the vertical divider).

 

quick question, if you use the template that you have for the apexi power intake, is it bad that the air from the radiator fan is being blocked completely?

 

that is a good question, that is why i opened it up on my final k&n version, i think i would modify the final apexi version a bit more so that it has more flow space and direction, but i need a car with an apexi intake to perfect the template on :-)

Would you tell us what the K&N part numbers are for all the filters in your set up there, including the smaller airpump filters etc.?

turborexxron: I think it's better than the M2 mainly because I don't think I'd have as many issues with aftermarket hood fitment, and ic fitment. The M2 box is a little bigger than it has to be. I may be completely off base on this one, but at the very least, I don't think the M2 box is any better than this heatshield.
