Mazda sells a fuel injector cleaner kit which they recommend .
I have never used it. I've put Techron Fuel System Cleaner
in a nearly empty tank and fill it up with gas just before every other oil change. I then use up that tank of gas and do an oil change. It seems it's good preventive maintenance as I've had no fuel injector problems.

Fuel injector cleaners are solvents. They're supposed to dissolve the deposits that clog the pinhole sized openings in your injectors. These solvents do not mix well with oil. As a little gasoline seems inevitably to seep into the engine oil, it's a good idea to do an oil change after using fuel injector cleaner.

Good advice...2X a year is plenty, and changing oil afterward is a good idea also.

ok i am interested in that topic too.

i ain't sure if i understand well though.

I can see that it is good to do a oil change after but how does the cleaner works?

i put it in when the tanks is almost empty and i fill it up immediatly or i wait that i have almost no gas and then i fill it up?

thanks a lot, i though about doing it soon so any advice is good.

You want to make sure you run a full tank of gas with a bottle so that it is not too concentrated, by waiting until your tank is 1/2 or less you are going to get it mixed well. Just follow the directions on the bottle...... The oil change is not mandatory, but it makes ME feel good. (You are also talking to a guy who changes his oil when it STARTS to change color!)

I use Redline SI-1. Supposedly it's a little bit better than the Chevron Techron stuff. Don't buy the Chevron Pro-Guard (same bottle type, different name) that you may find at stores like Walmart, Target, Cosco, etc. That stuff only has a tiny bit on the stuff in the real Techron bottle and is only something like a dollar cheaper.

I haven't used the Redline. I'm sure it's good stuff. Maybe next time, if I can find it, I'll give it a try.

You're right, there are several Chevron bottles that look pretty much the same, but they're not the same thing. Don't buy the Pro-Guard, or even the fuel injector cleaner. Get the Techron Fuel System cleaner....that's the real Techron stuff, full strength. It comes in bottles to treat 12 or 20 gallons. Naturally try to find the
20 gal. one or you'll have to do some estimating and messing with two bottles.

I used the Mazda stuff, its called Top Engine Cleaner, don't know the part number. It is pretty good stuff. You have to put a rubber tube from your intake manifold nipple (where you tap the boost gauge) into the bottle and let it suck the stuff in until bottle is almost empty and then turn engine off. Let sit for an hour and then restart and finish off the bottle. The stuff causes your car to smoke a lot while being applied but afterward it definitely seemed to have cleaned out the injectors, acceleration was very smooth.
