Dealing with Pull Type Clutch Video
Hello I was bored today so I made a video showing how the pull type clutch in an FD works since many people find themselves either unable to remove it or unable to install it.
Enjoy!

Thanks alot. This could not have come at a better time. Yesterday I whent to the strip in my single turbo 3rd gen. The clutch is/was stock with around 50k miles on it. Needless to say, the clutch hooked up all the way through 3rd gear, (I was spining the tires through 3rd. ) but did'nt even make an effort to hook up in 4th gear. I allready have a clutch to put in my car, but still need a pressure plate/throw out bearing.
I have'nt searched yet, but I was wondering if you would like to give a breif discription on how to remove the transmition. I've completed dozens of push style clutch swaps, but never a pull type. Normaly I search before asking questions, but I feel a rough outline of a transmition removal would be great with your video.
Thanks once again for taking the time. CJ

Remove the shifter from inside the car.
Drain the tranny fluid.
Unbolt the PPF(total of 5 x 21mm bolts).
Unbolt the drive shaft(4 x 14mm boltsor 12mm...I forgot) and remove from output shaft.
Disconnect tranny harness (I believe there are 4 connectors).
Unbolt the starter from the tranny (2 x 14mm bolts) and then the tranny from the engine (4 x 14mm bolts).
That should just about cover it but if I missed anything feel free to chime in. After that, do Brian's method to removing the clutch from the flywheel and pull the tranny out.

you missed the clutch line that is above the starter.
-Clutch release cyclinder (2 bolts)
-and 1 bolt were it secures the clutch line to the tranny
It snagged me when the tranny was dropping down, kinda sucked

I had to remove my stock downpipe both times I changed my clutch. Is there a way to do it without removing it?
My clutch disc that I purchased from Racing Beat broke into four pieces and wedge itself into the pressure plate (stock car, 5K miles on disc, and no drag racing). I had to remove the pressure plates bolts though the window in the transmission to get the trans to finally seprate from the engine. It was a long day.

Use Real Player to view it. It works. You may need a component for your windows media.
