East Bear Headlgiht Buy...

Ok, we are borderline right now with the group buy. For those of you that have been hiding under rocks, or rubbing stick together to see your monitor here's the short of it:

We are in the process of bringing over a limited number of East Bear Headlight kits for FD RX-7's to whoever gets in on this group buy. Right now we are going with the price of $580 PER SET, which already includes shipping. I am going to set a deadline soon, but haven't decided as far as when, but watch this thread, or contact me for updates.

Here are pics of the lights installed and a link to what they consist of.

^^^DRAGON'S CAR^^^

^^^DRAGON'S CAR^^^

For a pic of them uninstalled (what you will recieve) go here: http://www.east-bear.co.jp/aeroparts...s/h-light.html

As far as payment goes, I *prefer* PayPal, because A) It is Fast and B) It Allows for Credit Card Payments. I will accept MO payments, but you will have to contact me ASAP because of time issues.

Shipping should start in roughly 2 weeks, and I although I am not guaranteing any definite times of arrival, they should reach your door around the 2nd week of August.

Questions? Contact me.

what kind of wiring does the kit come with to make it work with our existing stuff? do we have to do anything custom or will it all plug in and work?

Honestlly, all I know is what I see in the picture found on this page: http://www.east-bear.co.jp/aeroparts...s/h-light.html

In either case, I imagine it can't be *that* hard to wire into your existing wires.

Sorry I don't have more info.

Philips HID..

Do you think it would be possible to use something like the Philips or another company's HID lights? Does anyone know if the pattern is good for the East Bear?

The pod is higher quality than the Amemiya version, in that it allows the lights to sit higher (from appearances), and not cut off part of the beam. It appears to use the same lights as the Amemiya kit, which would mean that the bulbs are of type H3. I don't believe there is a direct conversion HID kit available for H3 bulbs, but I'm looking into it.

After owning the Amemiya kit, which requires cutting of the sheet metal around the light area, and the C-West kit which doesn't, I decided I wanted a light kit without a cover to avoid the scratching and discoloring concerns, as well as the risk of breakage, and the problems with fogging. The C-West kit probably has better lighting capacity than the Amemiya kit, but they're CATZ driving lights, so no upgrade is possible without full replacement. They also "bulge" to some degree, and the mismatched lights didn't look good to me.

Not entirely sure that I won't put a cover on the East Bear kit, but the options and lighting that it allows should be superior to the other two kits, and the price is just a bit over 1/3 of the RE Amemiya kit, and about 1/2 of the C-West kit.

Well, response since this last advertizing barge has been very good, and it looks like the order is going to happen mid-next week.

I am closing down this group buy at: MIDNIGHT JULY 30TH.

If I don't have payment by then, I'm sorry, but it really isn't fair to those that got on it and send payments to me.

IF however, you are still intersted, you can send an E-mail.

Matt,
Once orders are placed how long would it take to get these kits?

Thanks
Jason

Question east-bear website

That site is almost completely in Japanese. Did you find any text that was readable to find out more?

What I really want to know is, is there some kind of clear plastic cover (or plexiglass or Lexan or whatever) over the lights to protect them (and look cooler)? Or are they exposed?

Thanks,
Jeff

Not to throw a wrench in the works or anything but how about the FC lights as well?

http://www.east-bear.co.jp/frame/f_aero_index.html

I'm in for both depending on the time frame of the buy. And of course the cost. Keep us posted.

I am working with the timeline of 2 weeks untill they reach the US, and then another 3-7 days to be distributed across the country. I figure if the money is wired by the 1st of August, they should get to me by the 14th-15th of August, then be delivered to everyone by 22nd-23rd.

This is all tenative, but I just like having a traget to shoot for.

Lets try keeping up with this buy in the 3rd Gen Specific Section.

https://www.rx7club.com/vforums/show...threadid=10646

It'll just be easier to keep all the questions and answers together, and many questions have already been answered there.

Thanks for the bumps...

We are at our goal right now for the lights. I just recieved an e-mail from East Bear and they are telling me shippng can start at the end of the week (good) and that it should only take 1 week instead of my estimate of 2 (also good). However, I want to keep the timeframe the same as I have just so people don't get too anxious then let down (bad).

However, there IS still room and time for people to get in on this! However, it IS limited. Contact me via e-mail or AIM and I will let you know the details. Please only inquire if you are SERIOUS!

Thanks to everyone that is involved in this!
