Lets see some pics of the FD Pettit Rear fender flares!
Since il actually have an engine with crazy torque in my car... I have been toying with the idea of getting the Pettit rear fender flares/widebody so i can run 330's in the rear. :-)
Only thing stoppin me is, i wanna see if it looks goofy or not. I hate ricey looking ****, especially on FD's. Although this is a function over fashion part in my opinion/instance. Also the fact that it bolts on and has those bogus resessed areas for the screws/rivits, and i dont think i want to have it blended. (see rice & cracking bondo)... Lastly, i think you have to butcher up the stock fender in order to make clearance for the fatty tires. Not too sure i want to do that as well to my car.
Ps, i know i can see pics on www.pettit.com but the pics are very generic. I wanna see some good shots of that rear end!

that car is nice. im diggin the molded in style with those flares. I wonder how durable it would be, as in, how long it takes for the damn bondo to start stress cracking and ruining a nice paint job....
Anyone have pics of it simply bolted on and not molded to the body?

I would imagine you have to cut the hell out of the stock fender. Otherwise what would be the point of the flares, haha. Anyone have any experience with installing these flares?
--That chameleon travisorus rex posted a link to is sexy as hell with the flares. Im diggin it. After i buy the $300 flares, i need the 2800 wheels and tires... i think it will be worth it in the end.

your telling me, gonna look soo sweet when people pull up from behind and see this wide *** car with fat *** tires... Common sense should tell them the flares and wide tires are there for a reason... :-)

I was quoted anywhere from 3.5k-4.5k to have those molded on and side skirts molded into those. Alot more then i expected and i'm just going to have them "bolted" on for now while I save up a little more for a full paint job.

3.5-4.5 seems a little much just to have fenders molded to the car. My best friend and I fixed his Tacoma after a wreck and had to mold bith a fair amount of bondo and it really wasn't that hard. The guy is kind of a perfectionist but a couple of days worth of work was all it took. I dont doubt the fact that this is a good body shop quoting you this because I tried getting the best one in town to paint/match some fender flairs on my 4runner and he quoted me 1100. Funny.

i think im gonna do it guys... If this guy sells me his old supra rims which have smoked *** 315/35/17 tires on it. I will get the pettit flares, but not mold them to the car. I cant stand a perfect body/paint job gettin ruined by cracked bondo...(over time should it crack)
i think 315 nitto 555r drag radials will give me nice traction on the steet. well, i friggen hope so or else im screwed..

well, i just ordered those wheels/tires. The rims are 17x10.5 the rear tires are 315/35/17 with a 52 offset, he is including hubcentric spacers just incase. I am unsure how they will fit my FD with the pettit flares, but il make it work. Found a place that sells extended wheel studs, so with spacers, i can make it happen.
If 335s will fit, the tires on the wheels i just ordered are worn badly, so im gonna buy new tires for it. 335s out back will look amazing! I cant wait to drive this car with the new setup, should accelrate and handle like a dream. Especially with the new Tein HA's w/ pillow ball mounts that just came in... :-)

Hi Black Magic,
I am currently running some Michelin Pilot Sports (335/30/ZR18) on the rear of my blue car. The rear fenders have to be cut (approximately 1 to 2 inches) and the Pettit Fender Flares have to be shaved to fit 335s, otherwise the tires will rub. The fender flares are held on by screws on the blue car.
Here are a couple pictures of the Pettit Fender Flares not molded on.
