You guys are scaring me...
Im about to buy an FC but it sounds like these things break down every day from the way YOU guys talk about it... and you are the people supporting the car! I need the car so I can drive every day, i.e. to work, ect. Should I not get this car and go with a *shudder* piston engine?

I love my rx7's, even the one that's not running(my fault). In three rx7's I've only needed to replace a oil cooler line. any car this old will have some problems, just the people on this forum usually take extra special care of there cars.

Not really, rebuilding them is so damn easy it makes up for it. It's the electrical gremlins you have to watch out for, those are the ones that are a pain in the ***, like my alarm that randomly decides to lock me in the car (damn switch doesn't open the drivers side door) Looks funny having to crawl out the window/other door

my FC has never had a major problem yet. 89 GTU with 95k miles on it.
i've had a heater hose bust and lost my clutch master cylinder. the previous owner never had any major work done on it either.

Keep in mind that a performance engine does not last as long as those found in your typical civic or corolla. If you look at other cars of similar performance and vintage, they don't nessissarly last that long either. How many C4s do you see for sale with 140k Miles?
If you want to buy a TII, start with a fresher engine than that.

Performance engine in a Corrlla and a Civic? That's a stretch of the word performance. By that standard my friends kia has a performance engine.
just messing with you...
Oh.. and with a 140K on the odo you can reliably expect another 15-20K out of it, if everything is stock and in good condition. You may get more. But the ods are that you will have that foot in the accelerator more often. Then you end up wanting to make it a little faster, then a lot faster then you start looking for a daily driver. If it has a bad idle or looks really rough under the hood and inside the car I would stay away. To get the car past 160K on a stock motor it needs to have been really babied the first 100K. If it sat for prolonged periods of time at all in the last 5 years that isn't good either.
