KS you gotta be kidding me!!! driverside power window switch

took my car in to have the oil changed... i normally would have done this myself, but at the moment im working 7 days a week, 10 hours a day. when i got my car back, the drivers window would not go down. of course the power window switch broke. tryed lookin around in part places, no one has one. so i started looking online... mazdatrix wants $173.80!!!!!!!!!!!!! i about had a heart attack! does anyone know where i can find one that is a decent price?, and seeing that, i dare not look at the dealership.

Do a search and you'll find info about Mazda MPV window switches being nearly identical except for the harness. They are much cheaper and can be easily found on ebay for around $30. All you have to do is depin the harness on the MPV and put the RX7 harness on the MPV switch...waaa laaa!! the power window gods bless your car with a bountiful harvest of fresh air.

You can probably just take yours apart and clean the contacts with a bit of sand paper for file grit file. Over time corrosion does built up on the contacts and many times will show itself apparently all of a sudden.

Just pay very close attention how it comes apart so you can get it back together.

^ I've been unfortunate with all my switches. They all physically break so that the switch no longer toggles the circuit board slider-thingie. BUT I've also been able to take the top off the window switch. Put the switch back in the door with no top and use my finger to toggle the slider-thingie. It's a makeshift temporary fix, but it works till a replacment part arrives.

I find that the s5 ones are better than the s4 ones, just my opinion. But @ $200 I think its a very haslte free solution. It will take you longer to order and open the box than it will to put it in. Im lucky enough to have about 10 sitting in a box for personal use that all came to me free. I bet if you scower the net, you could find a good s5 one for ~$50.

all FC window switches are junk, regardless of the series.

better option is to turn the high load circuit into a low load circuit with 2 relays per door for about $50 in total cost.
