Yoohoo belt install help

I am attempting to put a yoohoo belt on my 7. ( key word "attempting") the damn thing will not go on the pulley no matter what i do. Im using the NAPA 22 inch one from previous threads. Someone please help explain to me on how to get this thing on. This is all that i have managed to accomplish.

lube it up.

have you tried walking it on? get one part on there and spin the pulley. Have you tried a flathead to guide it?

that looks like abitch BTW

Start with the bottom on first, get top started then bump ignition to force it on.

Also, part of the "yohoo" idea is a stretchable belt that pinnapple has came up with. It was like $13 and is said to be much better than the average belt.

You might try removing the two outer pulleys on the eccentric shaft...that gives you the proper sheave on the bottom set of pulleys right at the beginning.

I had to use a pry bar to guide it onto the pulley while a friend twisted the fan to help it on, it was a bitch, but no slippage since and it has worked fine for months now.

Thats the point. When you take off the airpump theres only one belt left on the water pump and it can slip. You either have to force a yoohoo belt on there or get a dual alternator belt.

Put around crankshaft 1st. Then get flathead screwdriver, slide it under the belt and put its head on the edge of the WP pulley. Then get a friend to hand turn the crank. The belt should ride up the screwdriver and slide on fairly easily.

I've run one for nearly 3 years now and not gone thru a belt. It slips occasionally on startup but overall has worked extremely well.

Its pretty much a lawn mower belt that happens to be a damn close fit for the waterpump to eshaft.

What is a waste is the duel alt pully that eats belts ,slips, and over-tightens the berrings because of the tention required...
