Yet another backfiring question
Now just curious, alot of the guys say backfiring is achieved by removing the cats and etc. Now my car backfires a fair bit when i get right up it, does this mean my cat is stuffed? Or is it just normal. I know alot of rx7's do backfire im just having a hard time finding why

idk, but all i know is if you gutted your cats... your an idiot. :P no point in doing that, but if you have a straight pipe system then your more than likely to backfire. i had that with my NA. its also because our 7's are made to run rich.

A big "deal" with Rotaries is that they are in-efficient in creating a complete combustion of the fuel. Meaning that fuel is being shot out with the exhaust. Add very hot exhaust temps created by rotaries + the re-introduction of fresh oxygen at the end of the tailpipe = fireball.
